A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

@nholliewog - A big intersection full of cars and people and as far as they were concerned I just fell over for no reason. I hammed it up a little and tossed my legs in the air. Then got out of there as fast as I could. It wasn't so much the wind blowing me over as I was bracing against it and then it stopped and I plopped. I'm sure I made at least one person's day.

KfHP - do you know anybody that can make a flier? I have asked on the comments board and crickets. I used to know artists but now that I'm all corporate...

@Hubig - hmmmm, tough question. I say yes only because I've figured out how to play some of Hook's bass lines but I haven't been able to do that with Lemmy - hahaha.

To play like Peter Hook you needs an extra long strap so's the bass hangs down 'round the kneecaps

I gotta go for a while, but I always feel like a tool when I storm the board without saying thanks to the DJ. Thanks Trouble! Tons of Love! Great funky show. I been chair dancing all morning. See you next week!

I'm hugely concerned, and yes I try to reduce my consumption of single-use plastic. But there is only so much we can do as "virtuous consumers." We need collective action. #BreakFreeFromPlastic it's a hashtag!

dish soap - buy in a big bulk container and refill. There are two new bulk shops in Maplewood where you can bring your own containers and fill up on all sorts of stuff!

Do grocery stores collect and recycle plastic bags and film out there? Also at school there's a company Terracycle that will recycle everything!

I re-use my Dasani disposable water bottle over a year now, probably should replace. There's not enough we can do at this point. Trump is about to trash a refuge along the Wall started in the 70's. We can't afford steps back.

My sushi place in JC has learned to just hand me my food with no bag, chopsticks, soy sauce, napkins or menu. Usually people are cool because it's actually saving *them* time and money.

luckily a zero-waste shop has opened near my house in manchester UK. I take glass jars to refill with foodstuffs, and you can refill shampoo bottles! we also need to lobby the government to ban single use plastics, regulate manufacturers and fund research into alternatives!

You can get bulk dishwashing liquid, bring your own container to fill. (Though there's still the issue of the large plastic jugs the bulk comes in). I'm sure there's somewhere in your area that carries bulk. There are also dishwashing bars (Like shampoo bars) that you rub your sponge on and go for it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am

Shampoo bars are great! Reusable cotton or nylon produce bags I've also been using for years. Still much to work on. I've tried making my own protein bars but I do not have the time for that! myplasticfreelife.com is a good resource.

ecbreezy:

industry has told us for decades that it’s the personal responsibility of consumers to recycle/reduce/reuse, to shirk responsibility onto us....to sell us more stuff...and it’s got to the point where you have no choice but to buy everything in some sort of plastic. it’s beyond time for government and municipalities to step in and regulate the production of plastics.

going to a coop or place to refill would be ideal but the vast majority of people do not have access to those types of stores :/
