My mom travelled a bit before marriage (1950s to early 1960s), and also collected her share of international record albums back in the day. Could be she knew the Dutch title :)

Yes, I was raised in a home where music from all over the globe was played, whether on piano, accordion, or record player. By the late 70s, a stereo hifi system :)
Also my dad had a pretty extensive 78 collection. Unfortunately many were lost to a flooded cellar.

I had symptoms two weeks ago. Cough, low but stubborn fever, and shortness of breath. I self-quarantined. Was lucky to be allowed to work from home (my manager checked with me daily asking about my symptoms.. asking me to stay home so I would not worry others in my open work environment). Tried seeing a doctor twice that week. At that time (in central New Jersey), the only screening questions I was asked: 'were you in Italy or China?, were you in contact with anyone who was?' The answer was no, so I was not tested. I do think I could very well have had covid19, undiagnosed. And if so, hope I didn't inadvertently put anyone at risk before I had symptoms, or after I felt they were fully gone :-/

@L: Glad you seem to be OK now! I think lots of people without underlying health conditions may have gotten it and shook it off. I know one of my work mates ended up getting a rather severe flu which came on and laid him low for a couple of days. He now thinks it may have been the Corona Virus. He's otherwise very healthy, rarely gets sick, has no conditions.

Sorry to flood the comments.. but Jan, something you just mentioned strikes a chord. This link was in an email I rec'd yesterday, from of all the unlikely senders, my local gas and electric company. Here's the excerpt with the link:

I got something which knocked me flat on my back about two months ago, and out of nowhere. Cold and flu symptoms, with considerable stomach distress (I'll spare any and all details), the latter of which I believe are not typically observed symptoms of this current virus. Who knows, though.

Thinking about your comment regarding other shows that feature 78 rpm recordings. There is the short feature on WFMU showcasing one recording 100 years old on each episode. Will post that link when next I see it. The USA Library of Congress has a "jukebox" on their website which had its start with all recordings from the Victor company. It is huge number of recordings but a bit clunky to use. I think somebody (very knowledgeable) does periodic podcast featuring selections. Will look all that up and post on a future show.
