Just came back from Manhattan. Gotta say, SoHo is so dead and silent it’s another world. Walked down Crosby Street from Prince Street to Howar Street in Chinatown. This was around 6:00pm to 6:30pm. You know how in “After Hours” it’s desolate but it’s at night? Exactly like that but while it was still sunny.

Also saw some kids scoping closed boutiques and testing doorknobs. Gotta be careful on a few ne levels nowadays. Felt very 1980s.

@AmiAd: The level of economic destruction happening because of this will require a fairly large bailout not just legalizing pot.

This whole mess should be able to force universal healthcare that will ease financial burdens off of existing businesses. And in NYC this mess might also force cabaret laws to go away once and for all.

I doubt you will see new businesses pop up to prop up economies but laws be adjusted to allow existing businesses to thrive.
