Hello Therese, Ruth and all.
That negativland track was oddly calming.

Streaming in stereo and alternately listening to 91.1 in mono. Signal sounds great!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Sid:

Far from 91.1, Ace?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Therese:

How much of a delay between the two, Ace?
Avatar 5:30pm Joe B:

Hi Therese, Ace and everyone
Avatar 5:31pm Joe B:

air signal I'd guess is 10 seconds?

@Sid. No I get 91.1 quite clearly.

@Therese I have it at about 4.5 seconds, but everyone else's mileage may vary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm ParUbi:

The CD had that blue case Rykodisc used to have. It's still somewhere in a box here...
  5:35pm Sally:

Thank you for being with us Therese! Love the show so far...laying in bed feeling helpless with you all ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm listener 126464:

speaking of bands wearing masks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Ken From Hyde Park:

That seems logical. The farther one is from the transmitter, the more the delay would be.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Sid:

Ace, I thought the mono 91.1 might be due to distant reception. Are you listening on a mono radio or is 91.1 not stereo right now? Radio geek asking from out of the area. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Your Ace From Exchange Place:

@Small single speaker Mono table radio. It's either that or streaming in Stereo to two M-Audio studio monitors. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm kham:

Good survival jams here Therese! You are always so good for on-topic playlists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Therese:

Therese, are you live or Memorex? Ace, that's the width of the house. I sit in between the speakers. It's a good effect.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Ken From Hyde Park:

My Android device says the bed is Les Jours Tristes (instrumental) by Yann Tiersen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Therese:

your device is correct, Ken
  5:56pm v-dawg:

It is still hard to hear your voice over the background music.

Great show Therese! Loved hearing "Don't Change." I remember INXS were playing a Saturday afternoon all ages show at The Ritz (nee Webster Hall) on the Shabooh Shoobah tour and I didn't go because it was raining. Not the best decision I've ever made...
  6:01pm SeanG:

Hello Therese, I always liked this Frida record despite the fact I dislike Phil Collins. Great opening with The Slits today. I miss Ari Up so much, she was such a lovely human being. Always managed to put a smile on my face.

  6:08pm choggie:

an interesting fact about Phil Collins, at one time he had the world's largest Alamo memorabilia collection in the world, which he donated to the Alamo in Texas about 15 years ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Matt Fiveash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm mariano:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm listener 126464:

Hi Matt
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm Therese:

Fiveash! How you feel?!
  6:09pm Sally:

This Moby Grape song conjures up all sorts of images and feelings whenever I hear it. One of my faves of theirs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm Sid:

Phil Collins was in great demand as a producer/session drummer with that big gated drum sound in the 80s and early 90s.
Avatar 6:10pm βrian:

Ha ha, JCS. Back to catholic school 8th grade.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm mariano:

Hell yeah, Murray Head! That's the original album, not the B'way cast recording, btw, so no Ben Vereen, etc.
  7:07pm Jett:

When that Hollins Ferry album was out around 1977, I thought that track sounded a lot like the Steve Miller Band. I did not have much interested in the Mayland band, I was too busy listening to the Sex Pistols, The Damned, and Elvis Costello to care.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm mariano:

It is Yvonne Elliman though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If the Hoof 'n' Mouth production doesn't come back until next marathon, the DJs could get together and put on a JCS show at Monty Hall, if and when this virus mess ends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Handy Haversack:

Ahhhhhhhhhh, nice, Therese.
  7:11pm Jett:

Yvonne Elliman was always heavenly. Loved that track back then.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm steveo:

wonderful; ears are happy
Avatar 7:21pm slugluv1313:

yes, i think this is the double LP my Mom got for me way back when!
isn't the most-recent JCS being re-broadcast again tonight? may watch a bit, Alice Cooper as Herod sounds like a hoot!
but, been pre-occupied with the Mourning Dove in the large flower pot on my fire escape (the one with the "bee attracting" wildflowers who have survived the Winter!)
there have been a pair of Mourning Doves hanging out there for the past week or so, & i was wondering, are they building a nest in there?!
just checked, & sure enough, there is one egg there!
(DEFINITELY going to drive the foster kitties totally nuts, especially once the babies hatch, hah!)
but right now -- i am scrambling around, researching ways to make sure they are protected -- heavy rains, thunderstorms, winds expected overnight, tomorrow -- ugh!
  7:22pm Micheal:

Thank you, Therese!
Avatar 7:22pm slugluv1313:

these songs are so perfect -- thank-you, Therese :)
Avatar 7:22pm RobinSays:

"Pink Moon" and "I'll Keep it With Mine" are two of my all-time favorite songs. Thanx Therese!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm Doobois:

Way cool, slugluv! I see mourning doves on the reg but you're so lucky to find a nest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm Therese:

@slugluv1313: There's at least one mourning dove in my neighborhood, their songs have always been one of the most comforting sounds to me.
  7:24pm Mr. Palchepo.:

I literally just got finished hooking up a new set of speakers a friend gave me for the last handful of songs. Couldn’t have been better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm Handy Haversack:

Very cool, slugluv! I put out some suet today, but they birds don't seem to have figured it out yet ... they are pretty psyched about the grass seed I put down, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Handy Haversack:

Mourning doves are ground feeders, so they like seed scattered on the ground -- they seem to be big fans of safflower seed, apparently.
  7:27pm Dylanna Hell:

Thank you, this is so good. and I like the bird-talk going on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm Doobois:

Grass seed is haute cuisine to dah burds. The bald spots on the grass prove it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm Therese:

Again, I'm sorry about the levels. I think I figured out what I was doing wrong and will fix it for next week!
Avatar 7:29pm slugluv1313:

yes! the Mourning Doves' sounds are sooooo sweet and soothing!
when i was really little, my Mom taught me that they were the ones making those sounds (even if i could not see them) when i finally did see them, i fell in love, they are soooo pretty :)
@ Handy -- yes, that is what i have been reading, they like seeds! (perhaps why they ended up in the flower pot with the wildflowers? maybe some seed happened when it got real warm here??)
  7:29pm Andres:

KRAMER: Levels.
JERRY: Levels?
