Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from April 24, 2020 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

By 1979 technology had caught up with Mike Oldfield a little. He made Tubular Bells with tape. He's a tape guy. In fact he burned out the initial master tape of that album, and had to do it over from scratch. I don't think even the new Tascams etc worked for him so much. Plus, it was time for the 1970s to go bye-bye. Guilty, although an interesting part of his output, is probably not his finest moment.
