Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm

@mariano I don't think so, but that sounds interesting. This one relates to Manson's irregular arrest and release history and his connection to the San Francisco health clinic that was a front for the CIA LSD dosing experiment. Plus other details I forget.

  10:47pm
JakeGould:

@Melinda: My problem with conspiracy theories in general is they assume that otherwise there is a perfect structure that just works… Then this “conspiracy” happens.

I think it’s a lot simpler: People want to find meaning in the meaningless. Or have ignored what always existed and then discover something and believe a truth is being revealed.

It’s like those two middle-aged loons I mentioned: They didn’t suddenly pop up in the world. But in the world where exists now where fewer people are outside and such, their “voice” in the streets of Brooklyn suddenly come to fore.

Like in NYC if you go outside nowadays, you are really one incident away from dealing with a personality stew. Which is why basic shopping for me has become so stressful; who knows what loon I just ticked off because I am not standing in line the right way.

Anyway, eat your cookies with gusto.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm
Rory:

@Jake laid it out so perfectly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm
melinda:

@Jake agree about finding meaning in the meaninglessness. I'm skeptical about most conspiracy theories. The trick is to have skepticism, or at least strict standards for conspiracy hypothesizing, without falling into the camp that dismisses every challenge to official narratives as a conspiracy theory.

Some conspiracies are real, but most conspiracy THEORIES are about things that usually need a lot of conspirators. A lot of conspirators usually means the conspiracy doesn't stay secret, AND there's 2x more chance of F***-ups with each added conspirator.
