I think it’s a lot simpler: People want to find meaning in the meaningless. Or have ignored what always existed and then discover something and believe a truth is being revealed.
It’s like those two middle-aged loons I mentioned: They didn’t suddenly pop up in the world. But in the world where exists now where fewer people are outside and such, their “voice” in the streets of Brooklyn suddenly come to fore.
Like in NYC if you go outside nowadays, you are really one incident away from dealing with a personality stew. Which is why basic shopping for me has become so stressful; who knows what loon I just ticked off because I am not standing in line the right way.

Some conspiracies are real, but most conspiracy THEORIES are about things that usually need a lot of conspirators. A lot of conspirators usually means the conspiracy doesn't stay secret, AND there's 2x more chance of F***-ups with each added conspirator.
