checking out International Anthem right now... wow! this went under my radar. Jesse, have you heard anything off Chicago Research?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm

pretty much everything i've heard from from international anthem is fantastic & deep. unfamiliar with chicago research, i think.

all's quiet over by studio J today/tonight. no marches walking by the front or back, no helicopters hovering.

JakeGould:

One week since last and literally no rioting or looting in NYC. Each day passes and another pile of successful peaceful protests is added to the pile.
Avatar 9:31pm
slugluv1313:

Oshogbo REALLY hitting all the right spots
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
jj.:

for sure, though what i experienced was peaceful in perhaps the most raucous/cathartic/noise-making sense of what you can call "peaceful"
Avatar 9:31pm
sgtpeepaw:

A bunch of peaceful protests just went down here in western mass, and more to come. Glad to hear nyc has been experiencing the same.

For sure.

yes -- for as long as i can remember, my impression is that the powers-that-be hate/resent protests even more when they are peaceful, "law abiding," etc. even if LOUD

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm
Scott Williams:

Handy, nice to hear you and Kate on Techtonic this evening! Was listening from the same spot where we last shared prehistoric beers
  10:16pm
JakeGould:

I’m at cruising altitude… Also, I saw one of the MTA hand sanitizers in person when I walked the length of the Atlantic Avenue subway station to head home a few days back. Literally one Purell dispenser. And you only saw it when you were leaving the station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
McGroovey:

And a skunk sprayed outside my window, and the music still sounds good.
  10:17pm
JakeGould:

Gotta admit something… Never really found skunk spray to be objectionable. Just my nose I guess.

@Jake it depends on how far away you are. If you're at a safe distance, it smells sweet, like Molson beer. (I grew up in upstate NY in the '70s, and Molson was a common luxury, and we called it skunk beer, and drank it with relish)(metaphorical relish).
Avatar 10:24pm
northguineahills:

Wow, thanks jj!!!

And if you're close, you'll want to set yourself on fire and put yourself out of misery.
Avatar 10:25pm

I've heard tomato juice doesn't work.

@McGroovey: Sure, I guess my city boy life only smelled skunk in the outdoors.
  10:25pm
rw:

Evening. Moon the man!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm
McGroovey:

Well, but at least tomato juice makes you feel like you're doing something to solve the problem that doesn't involve fire.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm
Handy Haversack:

@Jake, Kate and I sat in the park near the 34th St. ferry landing for a bit today and actually saw a Parks worker come through and offer everyone masks. I managed not to shout when the unmasked yuppies turned him down.
  10:29pm
JakeGould:

@Handy: Ha! That is something… I was in Union Square today. Went to the farmer’s market and sat down on a bench to enjoy the day and read. What could go wrong?

There’s a fire on the 4, 5 and 6 IRT tracks and my side of the park starts getting a fog of smoke… Good thing I had a mask! Hahahaha!!! Hahahaha!!!
Avatar 10:29pm
TDK60:

Hi Handy. Just shout "Science!" and if they look at ya wierd, just say "Thomas Dolby tune."
  10:32pm
JakeGould:

@TDK60: The thing is 13 weeks into this whole mess and if someone is not going to wear a mask, they are just “next level” something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm
Handy Haversack:

Ha! Good advice. "Well, what are they blinding *you* with?!"

We ate some to-go fries and had a to-go glass of wine there, and it felt like 40 percent normal.

northguineahills:

I have must been in a coma, I had no idea Laraaji and Sun Araw collaborated!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm
Andrew Waterloo:

I think the point of Tomato juice is to make the mess so bad that you have to scrub the crap out of it
Avatar 10:38pm
northguineahills:

If I'm outside city limits, I get side-eyed wearing a mask. Some people really do view it as a political, and not scientific decision. (suburbia FL is a weird mix rich GOPers from up north and rednecks [disclaimer: I've met decent rednecks who can think for them selves])
Avatar 10:39pm
northguineahills:

(which is why I rarely venture outside any given city in FL).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm
Parq:

Jake G @10:29 - I walked past the 23rd Street 6 stop and smelled smoke something fierce, and there were MTA guys standing around, but the station wasn't closed. Now I know.

JakeGould:

@Parq: There you go!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
jmr3:

@northguineahills: you must be way north in FL, it's completely different down south. For one, there is no 'outside city limits' - it's ocean on one side glades on the other
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
Sweet Corn Lizzie:

Ha, Pat has said he'll yell SCIENCE!! at anyone who challenges his mask.
I gotta listen to that Techtonic show to hear one of our own.
