Hi, Julie! Hi, Ensouled Ones!

Going to have to take off for a meeting soon but will be back as soon as I can!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:03pm Julie:

heya Handy!
Avatar 12:03pm βrian:

But @Handy, it's 12:03!
Avatar 12:03pm Really Lisa:

Hi Julie, hi Handy, and everyone. Hope you're well.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Julie:

hey Brian! hey Really Lisa!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Handy Haversack:

It's a 12:30 meeting ... and *actually* important for once. I'll be back, hopefully at 1:30!

Gonna miss *so much* good hair!
  12:05pm Mr Nobody:

Hey all!
Avatar 12:05pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

Hello!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Julie:

hi Sylvia! hey Mr Nobody!
  12:05pm Marie:

Julie and David! Hi Julie and everybody!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Julie:

well that bowie hair is pretty terrific though. Hi Marie!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Handy Haversack:

Strong opener from Bowie in the Hair Games! Also in the concurrent Shirtlympics!
  12:07pm Marie:

LOVE that hair. I should just google images of David for future hair ideas
  12:07pm Mr Nobody:

I have been feeling like I had hair like that because of the quarantine. lol
Avatar 12:08pm Really Lisa:

Ok for me, Julian Cope can do no wrong. <3

And the Bowie hair was much like mine in the early 70s.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:08pm Julie:

yeah I'm getting to that I should cut my own bangs point
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Julie:

everyone is using that gender switch faceapp again and I bet there's no change on Bowie
  12:10pm Mr Nobody:

Cutting your own bangs? That's dangerous thinking there.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Julie:

I did it for years but now I don't even have decent scissors
  12:11pm Mr Nobody:

Then again I'm not sure there has ever been a better time to try things like that. No one is getting out anyway.
Avatar 12:13pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

Good afternoon souls of the dark night. I am heading to the sunny outdoors once again with this show as the soundtrack (shame about the crackling headphones cable). Expecting nothing but the usual greatness!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Julie:

oh there's a lot of people out there. Hi Cha Cha!! Enjoy the sun :)
Avatar 12:13pm βrian:

What's the proper wine pairing for a midday work meeting?
  12:13pm Marie:

My hair seems to have a will of its own and tends to go, by default, to what Bowie is rocking there... I have often looked like a psychiatric patient due to my own haircutting efforts
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Julie:

All and any?
  12:14pm Marie:

Brian--Gallo?
Avatar 12:15pm Really Lisa:

@βrian - tall glass & a straw.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Handy Haversack:

You make an excellent point, @Really Lisa!

Have fun, Cha Cha!

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Julie:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Julie:

(In your FACE, Rolling Stone!)
  12:26pm Marie:

I meant "dig"--and thanks for the Nirvana! I'll never get tired of this song.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Julie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm brainiac:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Julie:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Stanley:

Was that just The Night Owl, or the whole stream, Julie?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Julie:

just the night owl, stanley. But the "new" stream whatever it will be called is supposed to be back this weekend.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Stanley:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Julie:

I love the upside down question mark I wish English had that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm brainiac:

Yeah, as in theater speak.
I'm always embarrassed about my errors when you're around, Handy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm brainiac:

*blushing*
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Handy Haversack:

But "queue" is one of the funnest words to type.

(I'm not really here!)
  1:26pm David in London:

Hi gang. Afternoon Julie.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Julie:

yes it is
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Julie:

hi there David! how is London tonight?
Avatar 1:26pm Hubig Pie:

The Floyd look a little pale to be speaking of San Tropez
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm brainiac:

All that hair protected them from the sun
  1:29pm David in London:

Sunshine after the rain here Julie. And cocktail hour is almost upon us.
Avatar 1:29pm Hubig Pie:

Liberal application of Bain de Soliel
  1:31pm Mr Nobody:

I love beaches and the outdoors but if I stood next to them I would make them look like they had glorious dark tans.
  1:31pm Mr Nobody:

I burn in the moonlight
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:32pm Julie:

I'm always worried when I take long drives I gonna get burnt through the windows
  1:34pm Mr Nobody:

@Julie been there done that. I have rocked the half burn many times.
  1:36pm Mr Nobody:

Actually wound up with a "tan" when we visited the UK years back. My left side wound up being a few shades less pasty white. I don't recall seeing but a handful of cars there with window tint.
  1:37pm elwyn:

goodnight everyone. i need sleep.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Julie:

goodnight elwyn! so good to see you!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Julie:

ha! I have also returned from the UK with a sunburn. It's quite.. unexpected.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Summer and Michael and Sylvia:

Late on affirming air cello in tandem here, Julie. Indeed. x
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Julie:

hi there S&M&S!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Handy Haversack:

I'm back! Zoom is uninstalled!

Hi, brainiac! Hi, Phillippe! Good to see you!

I missed Unwoman *and* Boomtown Rats? I mean, sure I'm alive -- but why?
  1:40pm David in London:

Julie, you shouldn’t take the harsh rays of the British sun lightly...
  1:41pm Mr Nobody:

Unexpected indeed. Winding up with a sunburn in a country known for such light skinned people was certainly a surprise. Then again....burn in the moonlight.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Julie:

David so I have learned!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm brainiac:

@Handy: Good to see you too, brother. You always brighten up the room.

Is there anything Childish/Donald can't do?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Julie:

he is pretty fantastic
  1:51pm Mr Nobody:

I would say Mrs Nobody learned yesterday not to underestimate sunbathing on days when we have extreme ozone warnings but history says otherwise. She is Mrs Lobster for now.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Julie:

oh no poor thing!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Julie:

I have never understood the appeal of sunbathing, seems awfully boring.
  1:55pm Mr Nobody:

I can enjoy catching rays for a few minutes in passing but simply laying out to lay out? No thank you.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Julie:

My friend in hawaii that's literally like ALL she does. she doesn't go in the water she doesn't read she just lays there in the sun.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Julie:

and she refuses to put on sunscreen she's really gonna be sorry one day :(
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Michael 98145:

That is a waste of Hawai'i. Just sayin.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Julie:

Well she's lived there a very long time so she's probably seen most of it. She does fish sometimes I think.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Julie:

hi Michael!
  1:59pm Dean:

This Void Vision is reminding me of two other bands whose names start with V: Vivabeat and Voice Farm.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Julie:

oooh I'll have to check them out, Dean!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm brainiac:

As we speak I'm prepping to escape the withering heat of the Sacramento Valley and head to the water and rocks of the Sierra. Sunscreen packed.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Julie:

there's some pretty good hair in L&R
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Julie:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Michael 98145:

I find Hawai'i very -healing- ... but they don't want us there right now
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Handy Haversack:

Ooof, that sounds nice, brainiac. We have been debating whether we can get out of town -- and trying to borrow camping gear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm brainiac:

It's just for the day, but can someone please harass the Old Codger for me while I'm gone?

I met a dear friend the other day, it was surreal, as I insisted on a 2 meter distance the between us and we were outdoors the whole time, even after it started raining, Gotta be so careful....
  2:17pm David in London:

A very young me can be seen in one of the photos on the back cover of The Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven. Live at The Marquee...
Avatar 2:17pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

Songs of Faith and Devotion is kinda epic.
Violator is their best, best songs sequence, great prod, it features Walking in my Shoes, Personal Jesus, Halo Enjoy the Silence, Policy of Truth, all heavy hits.

Atlanta is absolute genius. Intensely good.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Handy Haversack:

Nice, David!
Avatar 2:19pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

Goldfrapp did a remix of Depeche Mode's song Halo, it is gorgeous. The band actually uses it when they play the song live.

Avatar 2:35pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

France Gall was so talented
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Julie:

or 76 depending on who you believe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Listener Bob in PGH:

As a junior high aged student, I was HEAVILY into early Queen, Rush, Yes, and their ilk. It was tracks like "The Prophet's Song" that eventually led me to punk/post-punk. There's only so much a young man can take! :-)
Avatar 2:36pm Sem:

Hello, Julie, dark knights, sunny days. Love this France Gall, and the production.
Avatar 2:37pm Sem:

David in London, hello.

Larry, likewise!
  2:37pm Funky16Corners:

This is dreamy!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Julie:

heya Bob & Sem! I like Rush in some moments. Yes I'm unsure about.
  2:39pm Funky16Corners:

Hey Sem!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Julie:

that's all Michael Berger's work on the France album
  2:39pm Dean:

I, too, was into early-ish Yes through Tales, which I adore to this day. I remember reading a review that referred to something like its "Mahlerian proportions," and that did it for me. Big, bombastic, endless, meandering were alright by me. Then punk struck '76 and I was willing and able to embrace it without abandoning the bloated prog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Listener Bob in PGH:

I never completely turned my back on the "prog" type music but instead treated it like sweets - it's a "sometimes" music!

A little bit every now and then is okay, but a steady diet of that stuff can lead to some serious rot!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Julie:

@sylvia Oh yes. I don't really know anything about him except his collaboration with FG
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Julie:

I never stopped liking Rush.. but I always liked the 90s stuff and the way they played their 80s stuff in the 90s
  2:42pm Dean:

I just re-acquired a bunch of Gentle Giant, this time compiled in a huge box with a number of live shows. That band played too well for its own good, I fear.
Avatar 2:43pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

he was our greatest composer and songwriter I think. He composed the music for the musical Starmania.
He sadly passed away in his 40s after a tennis match :-((( it was such a shock in France
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Stanley:

Finished eating, time to ceck out what's going on.

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Julie:

Most people only play France Gall from the 60s but she's got lots of good stuff later as well
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Julie:

Better than Serge, Sylvia?
Avatar 2:44pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

to me, yes. I don't like Serge very much tbh. gives me the creeps.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Julie:

haha he is creepy but everyone recorded his songs
Avatar 2:45pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Julie:

it is very funny to hear Jane Birkin singing about herself
Avatar 2:46pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

90125 is the only yes for me. Rush has plenty of good stuff, not to forget its Trailer.Park Boys appearance.

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 2:51pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

@Julie one of Michel Berger's most famous song may be the one he did with Françoise Hardy, "Message Personnel".
Veronique Sanson did a great cover of it (she's supposed to have inspired the song. These folks had some drama going on, obv!)
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Julie:

My back announce is gonna be FAST after this cuz I got one more song
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Julie:

I have enjoyed this so much too. Only moment I did not when a lady ignored me asking to keep a safe distance just to take a picture of the lake. Aaaargh, the virus is not gone yet.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Ken From Hyde Park:
