View Uncle Michael's profile |
Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

WFMU's Give the Drummer Radio and Hinky Dinky Time denounce explicit and implicit racism. We condemn the culture of white supremacy, which enables the brutalization of black people and other communities of color. We support Black Lives Matter and the movement it stands for. |

The 45 rpm reissues are an audiophile idea-the same LP is spread over 2 discs, which should result in better sound. Particularly, bass hasdifficulty squeezing into those little grooves, faster speed lets the same signal be able to be spread out in the groove. Ambience, and all the other audiophile verities should also be improved. I have some 45 reissues. (They can still be gotten at places like Acoustic Sounds, but they sell for $50+ (Coltrane's Blue Trane is $100)

I just wanted to make you squirm, Eric. I'll try and dig up the project file. The elements might be better though.

Frisell has a documentary I saw (think it was on Netflix), seems nice, modest, soft spoken. I believe I saw him with Zorn's Naked City hardcore band, definitely with Paul Motian and Joe Lovano, and many times after that.
