Hello Jan and all

Listener Bob in PGH:

I must say that I am partial to banana meat. No bones!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi WR, hi Fred. Hope you're both ok!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Bob! how's life?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am
Listener Bob in PGH:

Life is hectic at the moment. Due to my work, summer is the worst portion of the year. Things won't really start to settle down until October.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am
chresti:

Good morning Jan, over/unders!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am
Listener Bob in PGH:

Ada Jones always seems to lift my spirits!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Chresti! @Bob, I hope this show will give you a pleasant labour soundtrack..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am
chresti:

People don't roll their "R" s like they used to..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am
Jan Turkenburg:

It's sounded quite different back then, indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am
Jan Turkenburg:

Nobody pronounces Dutch like Kees Pruis anymore either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am
chresti:

Maybe I'll try rolling my Rs more at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am
Jan Turkenburg:

In fact today's youngsters are rolling the R in Dutch more and more. That used to be a Hilversum thing, but Hilversum being where most of Radio and TV is happening it spreaded from the 80s onward. First it was not done and we were corrected at school, but ... the inevitable has happened :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am
Jan Turkenburg:

I'm still not entirely used to it. It has become a really 'fat' R now. So strange to hear my young adult nieces talk like that.
Avatar 11:02am

Avatar 11:22am
Mr Fab:

It’s the bee’s meow!
Avatar 11:23am
Mr Fab:

Why...WHY has the xylophone died out as a pop music instrument?? We as a society have failed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am
Jan Turkenburg:

Amen to that, Mr Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am
StringOFperils:

Good morning everyone. There's some guy named Bob Roberts here. Does he belong to you by any chance?
Avatar 11:27am
Ursula1000:

Xylophones are cumbersome and I think since nowadays you can replicate the sound on a synth it's shortcutted that way but when you see one of those in their full glory---it's quite a beauty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am
StringOFperils:

Just in time for Spike. Yay !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi StringOfperils! Yes, please let him in. He has some fables to tell us!
