@Revolution Rabbit: John Fogerty of CCR was in fact sued for plagiarizing himself in the case Fogerty vs. Fantasy, Inc. (1994). Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm

Krys: the standard practice in France is to Gallicize the pronunciation and sometimes spelling of foreign names. Years ago I was talking to a French guy who didn't understand me when I was saying the name "Vaughan" till finally he said "Ah, vo-GAN!" There's also a habit of Anglicizing foreign titles in the UK: the old-school pronunciation of Quixote is "QUIK-sut" and Byron's "Don Juan" is "don JOO-un".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm

That's correct Chresti. (Hi Chresti.) It may be Handy who came up with that. [?]

Stanley:

Was Joey Ramone six foot tall?
Avatar 5:37pm
brainiac:

Joey was a giant, man.

FWIW they're already ripping Fabio's show on The Old Codger comments board.

Hi TDK60. I think it was Handy or Mr. Pumpy?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm
mariano:

I think it was Handy, but I could be wrong. Stanley: he was 6'6.
Avatar 5:40pm
Tim In SF:

@mariano: exactly...that's why it's a bit offensive. And the guy who uses it thinks he's the very first one

@mariano - more like two metres, then.

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Of course Ian Curtis had increasing epilepsy & depression & medication - & increasing Rawk stardom - & not going on the U.S.tour was the thing exactly...it's just brutal.
Avatar 5:43pm
Tim In SF:

@Stanley....codger is such a funny word. Is it like curmudgeon ? Is codger always with "old?" Could you be a middle-aged codger?
Avatar 5:43pm
brainiac:

"dave wuz here:

fablo's show is just 3 hours of eastern european snuff film soundtracks"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm
mariano:

Yeah, Tim, I think that the only people who use the word are clueless American tourists in France thinking they're being funny and like you said, the first ones to think of it. Stanley: Yep, 1.98m.

tim from champaign (now washington):

I love Unknown Pleasures and Closer equally. I don't get the depressed/goth vibe people have attached to Joy Division. Theiir sound is so unique.

TDK60:

I was just out on a rare cross-city trip by subway. Of course had to do my latest slalom walk-dance to keep away from the morons on the train or street. At Union Square, I had to go move across the street to get around a whole phalanx of city guards not wearing masks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm
Stanley:

Tim - not really. I don't think you can even be just a codger.

@TDK60 I feel you RE all of that. I sometimes have to go in to our offices near Port Authority, and between the unmasked beggars and unmasked cops...and the heat...meh. In the meantime I have a heavy-duty mask just for commuting and wear disposable gloves for the commute.

The night before the lockdown began in mid March, I had a ticket for the Music Hall Of Williamsburg to see WIRE. For some unfathomable reason, they refused to cancel the show. I forgive the band, but will not forgive the venue for remaining open. I stayed home and ate the ticket, but forever enraged that MHoW didn't reschedule or offer a refund.
