Legitimately psyched for this radio show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01am ultradamno:

Luis Buñuel died on this day in 1983.

Hi Iradicators!
Avatar 12:01am Joe B:

midnight hour!
Avatar 12:02am Mike W:

“...second prize is TWO quarantines in Philadelphia...”

Hey, wait, that’s my hometown
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04am coelacanth∅:

greetings Ira & the Iradicals
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04am Chop Scott:

Bravo Ira!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04am coelacanth∅:

Thanks for Peter Green; and Thank you Peter Green.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05am Fuzzy:

Salutations and kindness to all!
Avatar 12:06am northguineahills:

Hola Irationalist, no wait.... All the good names are taken.

@Mike W: could be worse, I've been stuck in Jacksonville, and will finally get out this weekend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06am ultradamno:

Here's a picture Buñuel where he kind of looks like Rami Malek: twitter.com...
Avatar 12:07am northguineahills:

That's uncanny, ultradamno!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08am ultradamno:

If anyone wants to do a biopic...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yes Thanks for this.
Avatar 12:09am northguineahills:

Just when I thought I heard every recording from Fleetwood Mac (and I thought that years ago).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am coelacanth∅:

this must've been about 14 seconds before he left the band
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11am Ken From Hyde Park:

We're being Iradiated with goodness tonight, for sure.
Swag For Life Member 12:11am Ira:

@coelacanth: It's after the infamous Munich acid trip.
  12:12am BH:

at least we got an Astros/Dodgers benchclearing while such things were still possible in 2020 (also apparently going to the club in Atlanta has downsides)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

What to say. You can hear in his playing the same spiritual need that made him turn his back on the band. Some Artists are about that little bit more.
Swag For Life Member 12:14am Ira:

@BH: I take this show seriously enough that I'm not monitoring my fantasy team. But not so seriously that I'm not going to ask: Did Jansen get a save?
Avatar 12:14am northguineahills:

This guitar inferno from Peter Green has me speechless....
Avatar 12:16am northguineahills:

This is on par w/ Pete Cosey, or Jimi....
Avatar 12:17am northguineahills:

or a contemplative Sonny Sharrock...
Avatar 12:17am Mike W:

@northguineahills
I hear Jacksonville is warm this time of year
Avatar 12:18am javakid:

@Mike W That's the conventional wisdom...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah like in Indian music the Alap - the slow part distinguishes the Masters.
Avatar 12:19am northguineahills:

@Mike W: Yep, and humid AF (Orlando is the same, but at least there's decent culture there [the parks are outside city limits])
  12:19am Nate K:

Summer of Stones! I almost played “Summer Romance” tonight.
  12:20am BH:

*taps "going to the bottom of the 9th with the Dodgers up 3 and Jansen coming in for the save" in morse code*
  12:21am Nate K:

The post-Some Girls gauntlet has been thrown.
Swag For Life Member 12:21am Ira:

Looking forward to the archive of your show, Nate. The playlist is amazing.
Avatar 12:22am Joe B:

@Nate K - OK then: Emotional Rescue is the better album than Some Girls
  12:23am Nate K.:

I never gave Emotional Rescue the time and respect it deserved. I fully admit that. Better than SGs? I’m just not there yet.
  12:24am Nate K.:

@Ira, it was a fun one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am coelacanth∅:

Ira (@12.11) Thanks. i've never seen or heard of this recording.
a bootleg? (but then, i don't have all the reissues with bonus tracks or any box set)
Avatar 12:24am Joe B:

ok, at least as good
Swag For Life Member 12:25am Ira:

@coela...: I found it on youtube.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25am coelacanth∅:

...the vaudeville years?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am coelacanth∅:

the timing seems right -about 16 minutes.
i probably cannot afford that comp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29am Matt Fiveash:

Has Emotional Rescue gotten the bonus-track "Buy This Shit Again Edition" treatment? I know I could look it up but it's more fun to ask you guys...
Avatar 12:29am Joe B:

Yeah Matt, it was called 'Tattoo You'!
  12:31am BH:

Jansen gets the save. The TV mix on the Astros fake crowd noise was a little loud
Avatar 12:32am Joe B:

did they pipe in any garbage can lid percussion?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am Matt Fiveash:

Joe B, you've just made a grown man cry (with laughter)
  12:33am BH:

I guess the noise is gonna be different in places with closed roofs as opposed to fake noise outdoors.
Avatar 12:33am Jedley:

Once you go from National to American and get a DH, the urge to cheat more and more just takes hold
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am Vinnie from West Trenton:

awesome show
Avatar 12:36am Joe B:

talk about quality parenting! wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38am mariano:

Lol Joe B! Trivia: Picapiedra is Flintstone in Spanish (it means "rock picker" as with a pickaxe). Fred Flintstone in Spanish is Pablo Picapiedra.
Avatar 12:39am Joe B:

Pablo Picapiedra was never called an asshole.
Avatar 12:39am Joe B:

(actually, he probably was)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40am Fuzzy:

Not in New York!
Avatar 12:40am Joe B:

not in Bedrock!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40am mariano:

Hah! You're on a roll tonight, Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43am coelacanth∅:

i'd pay to see a Green/Kirwan version of the mac jam for an hour. if they jammed for 3 hours i'd stay too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43am Chop Scott:

Always better when Joe Block is in the room!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46am coelacanth∅:

that was a suitably almost unbearable older male version of an almost unbearable young female band.
Swag For Life Member 12:48am Ira:

You think The Falcons are unbearable? Confused.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am coelacanth∅:

the falcons were Excellent
Avatar 12:53am JohnEBGood:

Emotional Rescue is cool. I really like the Undercover album. Very underrated. It's sick and nasty. And I love the Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green. Rock on all!
Avatar 1:01am Jedley:

Back on the T-Bone tip!
Swag For Life Member 1:09am Ira:

Just noticed--and mind you, this is my 8th weekly show--that there's a feature on my virtual dj "Ask the DJ." I suspect it's the equivalent of an ejector seat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am Chop Scott:

I am horrified that I mis-spelled Belock--The People's Champ!
Avatar 1:11am Joe B:

Scott, hate to tell you, but you also misspelled 'chump'!
Swag For Life Member 1:11am Ira:

No sweat, Chop Scott, we all thought you meant Capt. Block from Car 54.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13am Ken From Hyde Park:

If I didn't know better, I'd think DJ $mall ¢hange is trying out some new laser blasters.
Swag For Life Member 1:15am Ira:

Sorry, everybody, I only know of 3 versions of this song.
  1:16am flashbazbo:

Hey all. Have some ice cream.
Avatar 1:16am javakid:

there is a bit of Judy Tenuta goin' on here
  1:18am Tookie Wuthry Guffy:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32am mariano:

'Night coela.
Avatar 1:39am JohnEBGood:

Wonderful Sax.
  1:39am Dave from Chi:

The drummer is whit? Sounds like Frank Rosaly....
Swag For Life Member 1:40am Ira:

Rob Brown . . . he's great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40am West Trenton Vinnie:

the sax is great
  1:40am Dave from Chi:

O yea...
Avatar 1:44am Joe B:

re Jerry Reed number - Ray Stevens playing the harpsichord on that one
Avatar 1:50am Hubig Pie:

Glad to be here
Swag For Life Member 1:50am Ira:

Which Ray Stevens? The Gitarzan guy, or the one who sang the national anthem at Shea Stadium years ago, with both me and Billy Miller in attendance?
Avatar 1:51am northguineahills:

coel's wagon just ran me over... ouch!
  1:51am BH:

If I had to guess, i'd think somebody in the Ossoff campaign noticed the graphic first and then decided to mention it to some media outlets (which, honestly, is a good plan if the other campaign mixes anti-semitism and awful photoshopping).

I say that from my experience as a campaign vol where I'd get mailers from the other candidate and then show them to the campaign
Avatar 1:52am Joe B:

Ha! i should have specified! gitarzan one!
  2:00am BH:

probably took some work to figure out an excuse that didn't involve admitting that they used MS Paint and had problems erasing the background around his nose
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11am mariano:

Hey Hubig.
Avatar 2:13am JohnEBGood:

Wow Aldo Frank sounded like Jerry Garcia! Terrapin Station 43 years ago?
Swag For Life Member 2:15am Ira:

Wow, that went over my head. I may have to play the song again to hear it!
Avatar 2:29am Jedley:

Wow three knockouts
Avatar 2:30am northguineahills:

This Evicshen is amazing! Also the Joe McPhee and Sun City Girls!

Jedley jinxed me....
Avatar 2:32am Jedley:

Better the jinx than the hex!
Avatar 2:41am glennfromglendale:

Currently drifting off with Night of The Living Dead on mute and this show at a decent volume. All is well
Avatar 2:45am northguineahills:

SRS, also new to me and digdug!
Avatar 2:45am northguineahills:

Thanks again, Ira!
Swag For Life Member 2:47am Ira:

Thank you, northguineahills, and all the listeners and all the commenters.
Avatar 2:50am glennfromglendale:

Scoring a sealed dead stock copy of “The call” by Horace Tapscott and the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestea at Human Head Record’s was a highlight of last year for sure
Avatar 2:52am glennfromglendale:

Thanks Ira, I’ve been letting all who might listen about your fantastic shows!
Avatar 2:52am spodiodi:

thanks, Ira!
enjoyed the show
Avatar 2:53am Jedley:

Great all night, but this last run especially has been superlative. Cosmic planes
Swag For Life Member 2:54am Ira:

I appreciate it, glen(n)dale and spodiodi and Jedley. Jealous of the copy of "The Call"!
Swag For Life Member 2:54am 12539:
