My exposure in the early to mid-'70s to Moody Blues was via the public and high school libraries' LP collections. So much fun trying one, then another, up through Seventh Sojourn. Didn't finally buy one until about three years ago.

Hey Sylvia, sphere and Dean! I've loved those Moody Blues albums ever since high school. Found them a bit hard to cue for radio though.

Hi ngh and uuee! I haven't had a chance to tune into the Newport streams yet. Hope to do that this week. We're really missing the festivals and all the great music/hanging out by Narragansett Bay with friends.BTW, the top page for my playlists is a photo from one of the Newport festivals past.

Peter K.:

That whole Getz album is a monster. The rhythm section is Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Tony Williams and Airto Moreira. Most of the tracks are Corea compositions. Solid stuff.

I don't think Getz got mellow until the 80sish
  2:16pm
Peter K.:

You don't think Getz's music was mellow in the 1950s and '60s? Really? What do you think "Jazz Samba" was -- heavy metal??
Avatar 2:22pm
northguineahills:

Mary will kill it! Did I miss you doing a discoteque, Irene!
Avatar 2:23pm
northguineahills:

@Peter: Ok, audibly mellow, but not in intent. Even his bossa years, there was still intensity....
  2:28pm
Peter K.:

And you think he lost his intensity in the 1980s? If so, I have some albums to recommend!
Avatar 2:32pm
northguineahills:

I bought the wrong Getz albums from the 80s, so, recommend away (en serio!) I only have 2, and they're very 'lounge lite' jazz.
