I've loved Fairuz ever since I discovered her decades ago. I was always stuck by her appearance (I've always thought she was gorgeous) She had her ingenue stage, when everyone is beautiful, but something odd happened. Every year for half a century she just became more and more beautiful. And her music, well, it's like you said -- the greatest living singer. I wouldn't necessarily go that far. To me, there are singers who are as good, but there are no singers who are better. Kind of like her beauty.
