other day towards the end of Mr. Fine Wine's Mardi-Gras-and-A-Half show, i was obsessing over finding a recipe for a liquored-up vegan recipe for King Cake -- so when i did a search, not only found recipes but found this! right in NOLA!

@ Threemoons -- my BEST to you!!!!! hoping you find another job SOON! (i have been unemployed for much longer than i care to admit, totally drives me batshit crazy) ActBlue is hiring -- remote jobs, but not in all states
@ mariano -- WOW, thanks! Green Goddess sounds awful familiar (maybe vegan friends have visited too?) and damn -- they have a dish featuring Freekah! killer drink menu too (are Hurricanes still a thing in NOLA? friend who visited there in the 80s said they were THE drink) . . . and yeah, still wanna make my own King Cake (even though i am the World's Worst Cook) vegan and "clean" but with a totally "sinful" liquor
radioronan:
I can vouch for Green Goddess @mariano & @slugluv Very good under Chef Chris (last I heard was at Revel) and now under Chef Paul. I know I've seen a few WFMU DJ's eating there when in town, as well.

My youngest sister is Lebanese-American (living in Dubai), and she’s in agony. She also let me know that as far as organizations to donate to, she trusts the Lebanese Red Cross and Impact Lebanon, and adds that St. George Hospital, where her cousin works, was hit hard, and that AUB Medical Center is also a worthy recipient.

i saw a Honey Bee hanging around my fire-escape "garden" earlier today -- s/he seemed to like the Catnip Flowers and Wild Flowers best, and as "crazy" as it may sound, i kinda took this vow to stick around so i can continue to support these (and other) tiny "insignificant" creatures, and asked the Bee to please travel and bring goodness to the Earth :)
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
Love music from the hashish lands - if that's a reasonable & respectful way of saying it (I think of Putumayo's chocolate & coffee lands comp.s - & it seems an accurate descriptor).
All love & healing empowerment to already struggling Beirut from here in the town of Lebanon, New Hampshire. Video of this blast was astonishing. I cannot imagine the trauma of experiencing this or its aftermath. May the human race someday soon have Leadership with the skill & responsibility to the People we critically need. <3
