I'm going to date myself, here. But I remember attending the WFMU Lincoln Center event where The Ex and members of the "Ethiopiques" branded crew mashed it up on stage in 2008. Mahmoud Ahmed & Alemayehu Eshete & Getatchew Mekurya did The Ex tunes in Ethiopian-Jazz style. And The Ex did Ethiopian-Jazz tunes in The Ex-style. At the end, a huge noise mash-up with everyone on stage going "wall-of-noise" for 20 minutes. I've seen nothing like it since.

for some reason we get ice cream trucks playing their tunes at 11pm around here. since everything i watched growing up showed that the ice cream man was the provider of treats for all kinds of tastes not just young children craving fudgesicles it just seems too obvious but i have yet to hear anyone shout for the truck to stop during the day or evening
