Question for Ira: Can I become a licensed massage therapist at Back School?

Good evening from the overly-hot west coast.

Watching AOC break down party politics to 25000 youngsters on Instagram live is an amazing antidote to cynicism but a relatively poor aural companion to the Ira the K program. Hi everyone!
  Swag For Life Member 12:16am
Ira:

Didn't get to pay any attention to the convention tonight, but Michelle Obama took care of that for me last night. So inspiring!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17am
Chop Scott:

Thanks for being here Ira.

It's a pleasure, as always.

wonderful set Ira and thank you for the introduction to The Conqueroo!

I suspect night 2 was sort of a slight lull compared to the other 3 nights. Unless you loved the roll call videos from the states/territories

As a NYS certified ENL teacher I can attest that Regents are unfortunately still given a whole lot of weight . Students can't graduate without passing a bunch. Problematic .
  Swag For Life Member 12:33am
Ira:

Are Regents a New York thing, or are they inflicted all over the country?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am
Mike W:

rip Regent Philbin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am
Mike W:

So glad to have this show to counter my sagging mid-week spirits
  12:36am
Somm Ben:

I don't remember Regents going to school in New Jersey.
  12:36am
BH:

From being in the midwest, the one NY educational thing I remember is that the birthday cutoff is a bit different (which I only found out about through the assorted student or two who ended up starting school in NY and moving to the midwest)

For whatever reason, it's still a struggle to get the stream to come up on TuneIn/etc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am
Hoboken Jack:

Enjoyed that Prine track a lot even though it was threatening to become Pancho and Lefty at any moment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am
gregory g:

A New York thing ( from New York Board of Regents) but I believe other states have their own standardized tests required for graduation
Avatar 12:37am

Yeah each state had its own special way of torturing children with Scan-tron

Coolidge! Salami! Thorpe!! Where y’at?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am

I also liked the White Shadow program
  1:04am

Thorpe and Salami have pretty good careers directing some good episodic TV. Not sure what happened to Coolidge after he went on to St. Elsewhere.

Gosh the studio really changed the story from the book to the song...
  Swag For Life Member 1:15am

I know! Hollywood gets all the blame for tampering with artists' work, but really Kingston is no different.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am
Mike W:

Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me but as inflation surged in the 1970s I feel like I remember it being $35,000 Pyramid for like a week

That might have been the week you were in Australia. Exchange rate.

Thankfully McCabe's double whiskey and raw egg concoction has not found it's way back via the old-timey cocktail resurgence
Avatar 2:49am

Maybe people just had to take a break from the show to consult with their counsel about their implication after your run-in with the fuzz on last week's show
  2:50am

@Mark G - bet that cocktail would would if you threw some citrus and sugar in with the egg and whiskey. Shake strongly.
