Rick G:

Cheerful Tuesday night, Ira and all
Avatar 12:03am

Wow please elaborate at some point on your surroundings. Maybe some man-on-the-beach interviews? Watch out for drifters or driftwood!
Agent Peter:

Pedantic alert: Wednesday morning

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09am

  Swag For Life Member 12:11am

If I'm lucky, Tuesday ends when I go to bed.
Nate K.:

Has to be one of the coolest live albums ever. I wonder what impact, if any, it had on Beach Music in South Carolina.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am
Hoboken Jack:

Hello Ira, Scott, HP Ken, and all enjoying the Montauk rauk
Nate K:

Thanks for nothing, Jack.
  Swag For Life Member 12:15am

Whoa whoa whoa! Nate, please stop insulting my listeners!
Agent Peter:

Tuesday's gone with the wind up

Am I sensing a theme?
  Swag For Life Member 12:19am

@Ariella: You're not wrong!

I've been surfing so long i maybe crossed the international date line

..."beach party". "beach stomp". "on the beach". "road runner".
nope. no theme!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am
Hoboken Jack:

Nate! how are you my friend? (Is Jack taking the high road, or simply too bushed for a battle of wits?)
Avatar 12:22am

The theme is "Tuesday Night in the Ditch"
Avatar 12:26am

Thanks for teaching this native Houstonian about Illinois Jacquet, Ira and Wikipedia! Quality hometown activism history.

the Right to Rock was a lesser known Warren court decision

Put your headphones on--fantastic stereo separation on this one.

Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Hey I'm a little late for the party, but I can't believe I missed Albert Brooks' birthday, and the Modern Romance scene with his brother Super Dave followed by the jogging-to-the-payphone scene is truly brilliant.
Dungaroos Kipawah:

The Sir Bob Quintet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am
Hired Divas:

Super Dave is Albert Brooks' brother?
Dungaroos Kipawah:

Dylan stole Trini’s drummer
  Swag For Life Member 12:47am

As Hired Divas just demonstrated, it's always timely to be discussing the great Einstein family.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49am
Hired Divas:

Cool, I learn something new every day. Sometimes those things are about the great Einstein family.
Dungaroos Kipawah:

Didn’t Albert and Bob’s dad pass away onstage during a roast for Desi & Lucy?
  Swag For Life Member 12:51am

The only part of that I'm not sure about is that it was a Desi & Lucy event.
Dungaroos Kipawah:

This version of the Barbara Lynn classic is amazing—those horns! The Arthur Lee Maye version of Johnny Adams was sweet too
Dungaroos Kipawah:

Re: Parkyarkarkus demise, I know Art Linklater was there.
Avatar 1:10am

Yes! Another round of Cytotoxic Nyatiti to clear out the humors

Hi, Ira, everyone:) That IJSFT track was awesome..love this combo of weird electronics and kids voices:)
Avatar 1:18am

Never heard that Dylan version of London Calling before... Not bad...

Avatar 1:20am
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Audrey is there! Missing on your screen?
Avatar 1:20am

Can see it as well:)
  Swag For Life Member 1:24am

I can see it now. Now if I could see some people.
Avatar 1:26am

I felt bad that those people were ignoring Ira :) Hopefully more will come by. Great show so far :)
Avatar 1:27am

If it gets too shady there, please put on a 45-minute drone and move somewhere better. /mom

I missed the beginning of the show....but I think I am confused by the mechanics of the radio coming out of the beach...how many batteries did you have to bring to run the the rig??
  Swag For Life Member 1:30am

I have a v-e-r-y long extension cord.
Avatar 1:32am

I have to admit, that sounded slightly Welcome to Night Vale-ish. "Listeners, I'm afraid those people walked right by me. Either they didn't want to approach or they didn't see me. Although I'm sitting here at fully functional mixing desk with the station banner and my bloodstone prayer circle, so.... They could have also been some agents from the mysterious yet menacing government agency, in which case, they wouldn't talk to me or *whispers* angels who do not officially exist and are thus unable to converse with me, either. And now, the weather...." :P

Jokes, jokes...
Avatar 1:35am
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

with a mix of Les Nesman and Johnny Fever
  Swag For Life Member 1:36am

I'm glad this debacle of a live remote is providing amusement for you guys!
Avatar 1:37am
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

WKRP comparisons can only be flattery
Avatar 1:38am

I really like the wind and waves sounds...atmospheric:)
  Swag For Life Member 1:38am

As god is my witness, I thought there would be people on the beach at midnight.
Avatar 1:41am
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh, the humanity...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am

i'm off
Thanks Ira
'night y'all
Avatar 1:44am

Good night, Coel:)
  Swag For Life Member 1:45am

That's a wrap on Tuesday, Coel. Thanks for tuning in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am

Greetings from Seattle, WA. Just tuning in.
Avatar 1:47am

Hi, Gurldoggie:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47am

Man, this is a scorcher already, wot??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50am

That was the most insane ocarina solo. Who is that?
Avatar 1:53am

Wait, you are telling me there's L7, L-Seven and L-7?! *head explodes* :)
  Swag For Life Member 1:54am

@Gurldoggie: Reg Presley?

I think this one is actually L-Seven, right? (hi all!)

Does Clay Pigeon go out at 2am?
Avatar 1:58am
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Now this is a truly historic moment

I'm sorry, I thought this was America
Avatar 1:58am

#truth :)
Avatar 1:59am

Hahaha radio verite. Wow
  Swag For Life Member 2:03am

@Kenzo: That's clearly where I went wrong. Well, at least one of the ways I went wrong.
Avatar 2:03am
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@Ira It's always good to have a wrongness backup plan
Avatar 2:09am

The 55 9/11s and counting totally justified the earlier exclamation about Trini's death, and the Great Beach Sweep of 2020 justifies some Public Enemy--or at least Billy Bragg
Avatar 2:16am

Does going to see Billy Bragg get you on a watchlist somewhere in 2020 USA? Also a big hello to all
Avatar 2:18am

Hi, Glenn :) In this day and age, I would not be at all surprised....

i'm sure the watchlists are as wildly inflated as anything else that is the result of 'list building'
Avatar 2:25am

Thanks Ira for consistently digging deep and making great shows. I love looking forward to locking the final roll down gate after closing the bar and throwing on this show to make my bike ride back to Brooklyn very enjoyable!
  Swag For Life Member 2:26am

Thanks, Glenn (and everybody else). I love having the opportunity to do these shows.
Avatar 2:29am

Thank you very much for the tunes and the unusual setting, hehe:)
Avatar 2:30am

Hope you’re surrounded by seagulls and far away from aggressive Least Terns.

Had the great honour of driving Roswell Rudd + Ab Baars Trio on a tour through Holland many moons ago. Roswell’s playing was truly majestic
  Swag For Life Member 2:43am

Yo La Tengo did a concert with an incredible lineup of improvisers, including Roswell Rudd. It turned out to be one of the last shows he played. A remarkable night for us.
  Swag For Life Member 2:47am

As much as I love Barbara Feldon and Get Smart, my playlist update system tells me there's been 99 comments so far, and I am writing this one only to ensure that it reaches an even 100.
Avatar 2:48am

We'll have to aim for a higher milestone cuz I haven't even marveled yet at the superlative run of cosmic landscapes in this stretch
Avatar 2:48am

YLT has always collaborated with incredible artists from so many different worlds. It’s truly special.
  Swag For Life Member 2:50am

Oh no, now we need another 98 comments to get to an even TWO hundred. C'mon, listeners, we . . .
  Swag For Life Member 2:50am

. . . can . . .
  Swag For Life Member 2:50am

. . . do . . .
  Swag For Life Member 2:50am

. . . this.
Avatar 2:51am

Can we aim for the next prime number?
  Swag For Life Member 2:52am

Do you know what that prime number is?
Avatar 2:55am

Someday we'll find the prime numbers we're looking for...

Off to my studio to do a days mixing....suitably inspired by a very fine set this morning Ira. Thanks for that and Wednesday warmth to everyone
Avatar 2:57am

Travis L::

Thank you for a truly enjoyable evening of music. Love the show Ira

bonne journée!
Avatar 3:00am

Thanks Ira and crew for a great night! It may have been rough on your end but smooth as ever over here
Avatar 3:00am

Off to the Poconos tommorow after months of keeping my bar alive in Covid NYC. Never needed a vacation more. Can’t wait to share Ira’s shows with our hosts
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00am

Lovely show. Thanks ira!

Really great show, you are teaching me how to like jazz after 50 years of pure disdain.
