So Lucifer is more than just a procedural where Satan (or his son?) helps cops solve murders then?

I love the piano on this
  1:04pm
Dean:

The early ones are all good, but the one that got him a smidgen of notoriety is Squeezing Out Sparks, which was remastered well not so long ago. Folks are fond of Mona Lisa's Sister, too. Frankly, though, I think his cover of "Hold Back the Night" is the way to go. It's on an EP, The Pink Parker, on pink vinyl!

- she was born the day before 'She Loves You' by The Beatles was released...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
doctorjazz:

The first 2 Graham Parker albums are fabulous to my ears (Squeezing Out Sparks, Heat Treatment). Don't know the later ones well (or at all)
  1:05pm
Ike:

Apparently CBS made a pilot where Frankenstein’s monster solves murders but it didn’t get picked up. The question is, would he have been investigating the deaths of each of his body parts?
  1:06pm
Dean:

Some of us, Parker included, think he is what Elvis Costello pretended to be.

First two albums, @doctorjazz, are Howlin' Wind and Heat Treatment, I believe. SOS came later.

Howlin' Wind, Heat Treatment, Stick to Me, then Squeezing.

Frank Banali, hadn't heard that. There goes another one.

My 9YO daughter spontaneously utters, "TikTok!" when she hears a tune on the radio she's heard on the platform. About ten seconds into this ELO, "TikTok!" I informed her I've heard the band live three times l-o-n-g ago, when they played this tune.

Elton sounds good.

Bass tends to get mixed Left so always sounds louder
- Elton seems fine...

I have a puzzle of it which I will attempt when I have a table

Never did listen to this Elton; it's when I stopped listening to him...still pretty rockin'. Interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm
doctorjazz:

(I was sitting of center, maybe that with the slight imbalance is what I heard. Vocal still sounds back more than I'd expect, but what the hell)

I was kind of getting away from Elton about this time... :(

@doctorjazz: I hope you're not in quarantine, how was the wedding?

I asked that very question on Ken's show, July 22 this year. Another commenter assured me it's "sun shine in."

@fred-separation there could have been better (did my best to keep myself distanced). Haven't heard anyone got sick, though, waiting to see.

Judging from the Metal Mountains and Fawns of Love, I wonder if you know/like Natural Snow Buildings? A bit more sonically aggressive, but of a kind with those. Lotsa spacey drone.

@Dean: not sure about that. The local scene can be cliquish, so they could be more likely to play wherever you are than here. Must be a reason why they haven't played where I would have expected them to

OK 'The Trip' was Sunshine's B-Side. We had that 45 probly in real time when I wasn't even 3 yet...

Julie @2.45 totally agree. when the jam broke up friends jumped right on the style council bandwagon, pretending to be more sophisticated or something; but really it's just boring mimickry (in my ever so humble opinion)
