good afternoon, Irene, hello one and all, an absolutely gorgeous day here in the countryside of Somerset,
Avatar 🥁 11:57am

A gorgeous day here on the isthmus, too.

Wait. Irene is on? I'm so out of the loop. But I was about to enjoy Belock.

It's like in the seventies when they put something up against Ironsides (can't remember what) and killed off Ironsides.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am
Irene Trudel:

Hey Sean, βrian and McGroovey! It's not on till noon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am

Yeah, but you were just mentioned on Joe McG's playlist, and now I'm in a conundrum.

Hello Irene & co.

Sean, good barbecue last week?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:03pm

Stanley. I had a Summer job in MacFisheries, was working that day when told of his demise.

We wrapped up tomato canning this weekend. 101 quarts. Yippee.
Avatar 🥁 12:04pm
YETI BOB:

We've been hearing a lot of great Hendrix cuts. I never knew about the session with Dave Holland and Larry Young until last week.

βrian: That's quite a yield! How many plants? What variety?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:05pm
Sean in Bristol UK:

@ Brian, yes, it was, going the same again, got to hang on to this weather and the activities that got with. 5oth anniversary of Jimi's passing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm
Irene Trudel:

I know, Stanley. Hard to believe Jimi's been gone that long! I wonder what his musical output would've been had he lived to a ripe, old age. (Welcome Stanley, YETI BOB and Brian.)

Irene - I've often wondered that, myself.
My first memories of Hendrix's music are inseperable from the basement den of my friend's older brother - incence, hash smoke and bean bags. No kidding and I loved it.

Hey Henry, unpopularfred, Mark R, Rich, and alanr! Thanks for joining me on my musical "Trip" today! I've been meaning to play that LSD album for some time. It's typically dense for its time.

doctorjazz, there is a CD of that album. I don't think there was ever a 2nd Wretched Refuse album released. For several years running I hosted a tribute to Citizen Kafka on my WFMU show. We haven't done one in a few years, but maybe next year if we can get it together --safely distanced, of course.

www.discogs.com...

There is another one listed on Discogs. I didn't think so either, proudly pulled out my LP when the situation came up. Many years back, a fellow brought my daughter home from Hebrew school (his daughter was there too), and he hung around a bit (likely when he saw my record collection). Turned out, he was a bass player (name escapes me), and played with Jorma Kaukonen in the years he wasn'twasn't playing with Casady. Somehow we got to Wretched Refuse, and I proudly pulled out their "only" album; he then told me he had this one, and the other one.
Have to check out those archives, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Irene Trudel:

Agreed, Henry. I love 'em both. northguineahills, The Iditarod came on the scene slightly before Espers. They might've known each other. Jeffrey Alexander was the leader of sorts and moved on to record producing. The band was on my show a few times and there are archives.
