Hi, chresti! Hello and thanks, bigplanetnoise! Greetings to you, Mark Hurst. Hey, Bergey: Wear rubber soles, and you'll be fine. Good evening, Chop Scott! Hiya, dave sustain. I have one eye on the road, Rando1. Thanks, WR. As you're chris_in_space, that might be fitting for this show's beginning. Greetings, Peter in SEA and Mike From Brooklyn! Hello, sugarwolf! Good evening, medson. Hey, Little Danny. Happy Sunday to you, Gina Bacon. Glad you've climbed on, listener 126464.
Hi Gaylord! So far, I like where you're taking us. I'll probably continue liking it, since I always do.
Also, I hope my pumpkin shows up here. I just pledged.
Hi Gaylord! Very soothing music to start off this show. Mucho thanx. BTW I am contributing to the Hellraiser Fundraiser (via snail mail, kicking it kinda old school).
@RobinSays: I guess I should repeat what I said to Wendy about appreciating the kind support of a friend of the station and of me. Well, it's all true. <3
Roger Ebert captured my philosophy as a public-facing person perfectly: "To make others less happy is a crime. To make ourselves unhappy is where all crime starts. We must try to contribute joy to the world."
...in Italian! Wow. I've never heard this version. So lovely, of course. Oh, and, I'm playing Dionne on my show tomorrow, so we're up to ONE psychic DJ moment so far.
Praise where praise is due @Gaylord. I have come to realize, to my regret, that I have been stingy in giving praise over the years. I hope to avoid that in the future.
Gaylord, that Henri Texier was a beautiful thing to hear waking up from a nap. However, I'm fucking ruined - going to the computer even before I get a cup of coffee, oy!

Hello Gaylord and all! Took a moment to catch my breath and check in and say what a truly gorgeous opening to the show it has been! Have lately been taking the show for a walk but it is too cold and rainy for him so it is a perfect night to curl up with the radio.
Hi, pgalub! I'm ging to paraphrase WFMU's Matt Fiveash, who once said that if there are several cover versions of a song, and Dusty is one of the people who covered the song, Dusty's version is usually the best one.
Sadly I must tune out early tonight. I will catch the 2nd half on the archives. Thanks Gaylord & Skeleton Crew for another great show!
Have a good evening everybody!
It's cool to hear the course that commercial-sounding American rock 'n' roll was cutting in the early '60s. This Al Downing is great and totally new to, wild that it came before the British Invasion.
My auto-correct used to changed my bisoux to bisons.
I got rid of auto-correct.

Andres:
That Smooth Operator sounded so familiar, it sent me on a Sade tangent me being terrible with lyrics and all, but thank the internet for revealing that I heard our friend Joe B play it also.
@Brian...nice...I lived in Mont Royal (Montreal) from 97-04...magical and also sad...but fond memories... almost married a gal there...almost...never been to France, tho...yet
accidentally stepped on my earbuds, ran out to, uhhh, not a supermarket, not a bodega, but as they were closing, they had earbuds. So, I can listen again!
@Gaylord - I try - tho currently ignoring "tooth fairy" related calendar reminders on my "phone" so I don't miss any of your great set pieces! LoL

wendy del formaggio:
@Brian: Montreal bagels are so good! There’s a place in Burlington (VT) that makes them, too. Myers on Pine St. Every time I go to Burlington I bring back a dozen.
That said, I like NY bagels too.
Hi, Gaylord. On my first visit to Montréal, I looked on the tourist map and set out on a walk from downtown to the Olympic district. Took the better part of an afternoon.
It was a standard post bar ritual in MTL...cab after cab arriving from all the various city precincts dropping off slavering masses desperate for those bagels....
9:36pm
wendy del formaggio:
Is it just me, or have the last three songs made anyone else think of Stevie Wonder?
@Gaylord: I once had bagels across the street (a block away) from Leonard Cohen's pad in Montreal. They were damn good, but Montreal and NYC bagels are different beasts, I can't say which one is actually better, I call it a tie.
@Wendy DF: I remember a place on St. Paul in BTV, across from City Hall, that I'm sure is long gone. Their bagels were ok, but better: they were cheap!! Those folks kept many of us alive!
Andres, assume you know that you can get St Viateur bagels (shipped by plane next day) at Tomme cheese shop in Guelph...? Not as good as the fresh biz, for sure, but toasted and slathered, a yummy proximity/memory for sure... I will def check out wood fired in KW tho...thanks for the tip!!!
No, didn't see a Jardin Tiki in my travels. I'll bet it was a neat place to visit.
9:46pm
wendy del formaggio:
@Gaylord: “steroidal rolls”. Hahaha, that sums up too many so-called bagels these days.
9:46pm
Andres:
Spinning Giant - Yes, thanks. I make a trip out of it with a stop at the farmers market, then across the street to Golden Hearth for the best pastries in town and finally for bagels. Makes for one fine brunch!
Wow Gaylord, you really did it today. I've ben in such a mood since I woke up. Can't get any thing done - just walking around in a dreamy state. Thanks? Thanks!!!
I plopped out the dough for that Clydie 45 at some point years ago, worth it for the flipside "My Loves Grows Deeper" too. Her Imperial discs are all incredible.
@Little Danny: If I find it for a Benjy or less, regardless of condition, I will snap it up. And it's been decades since it's been one of my prize singles. Also, thanks for the kind words about the show.
@Gaylord, can we shift schedule and keep this happening happening for an extra hour...? I'm not ready to say goodbye! And thank you, all of you, for helping to continue to propagate a world of sanity in a time of extreme madness!
Thanks for the soothing sounds Mr Fields - Needed this tonite and great to see sooo many friendly faces here in the Fields' of People !!! Peace & Love Y'all !
Thanks go to each and every one of you dear friends and listeners for helping me maintain my eagerness to do this for you (and myself) at a time when it's so tempting for all of us to hide. <3
Rebecca Lee Crumpler. I usually listen during dinner and during clean up afterward, hence just glance at the playlist if hear something arresting. Tonight happened to see Rebecca Lee Crumpler named. I wondered, maybe seems familiar, not sure, investigate who to be able to wonder why. Glance back at your other playlists. Ah, nice, historical markers along the path. Thank you. Hope others have been quicker than i to become better informed.
