Favoriting October 11, 2020: IT'S THE CURTIS AMY & ART BLAKEY SHOW!
This Sunday, we give the drummer Art Blakey some, but leave plenty of birthday cake left over for Texas tenor great Curtis Amy in a dual celebration, featuring various and sundry Blakey band lineups, from The Jazz Messengers and elsewhere, and Amy’s way-underrated oevre with Dupree Bolten, Paul Bryant, and others. Complimentary hats and hooters at the door.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
coelacanth∅:

i was with a woman for a few years who said she didn't want to procreate. many women say that then one day they're talking (*hypothetically*) about how beautiful our kids would be.
i know this one meant it though, because of her reason. she was too selfish and wanted all the attention for herself. she knew she'd be a crappy mother. (as opposed to most people, who are crappy parents but never considered that possibility)

I am selfish and dysfunctional. I didn't want kids, because I knew I'd be a crappy parent. I'm not sure my having kids contravenes any of this, except the part about wanting kids. Started late, hence the mere pair. I swear, I could deal with a dozen of 'em. I should have known as much, because shortly after graduation from college I worked p/t at a daycare facility. The kids were fantastic (and now they're all about 40 years old).
