"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. The sparrows are restless. They ran through their last seed delivery and are worried they might at some point stop being morbidly obese! There was a downy woodpecker hanging out yesterday along with the Bluejay Twins (we're touring every Major League ballpark!). I think the titmice might have moved on, but there was an ovenbird that didn't get the word and a warbling vireo that's decided to slum it for a little while. My neighbor saw a redtail, which I have not seen, but all the small birds did a pretty convincing imitation of small birds that have just seen a very large one yesterday, so I think it's still around!
We went to Manhattan Tuesday to hang out with morphe' and walked the East River trail from 34th to 10th Sts. I yelled at the cormorants to go back to Brooklyn. We get lonely without 'em!
