Sylvia: if you say she's rich, that may be. Certainly the Strand has been very successful but I did read an article about her and seem to recall (?) a rich husband, or did I just make that up? And that article did mention her buying Amazon shares, which seems ironic, but I guess just an investment decision. Amazon is here to stay. She (Nancy Bass) is not everyone's favorite person, and while the Strand was never an ideal workplace, it was mostly a stopping-over place for students and such. Still, they are needed all the same. Sorry to say that they are the last of the Fourth Avenue bookstores, and have held that dubious distinction for many years.

Jeffrey: yes, The Strand is a great and important place to shop books and supplies, I agree on that. My comment was more about "we need to know all the facts", in this world of disinformation.
And they sell great tees!

Re bookstores: yes, we all need to support our indie bookstores. We have a great one here in Montclair, Watchung Booksellers. Don’t know what I’d do without them. Just before Covid hit, I found a wonderful bookstore in New York: the Mysterious Bookshop, specializing in mystery and suspense.

Good morning Deborah!
Good morning Roadside Picnic, and that comp is a great one. I think it was tilted towards folk psych, if memory serves, and perhaps they thought that Pentangle was widely available otherwise as well.

Thank you as always, Jeffrey, for providing a lovely start to Saturday.

@Jeffrey, Thank you for all that you do. Lovely show.
Off to a walk in the sunny autumn forest. Peace all. And may the better president win. We all know who that is.
