I could use another year of lockdown, the way this show has gone. (maybe not really. but there's a strong component of feeling in me that just wants to keep staying home and listening to music like this, forever and ever)
Avatar 12:48pm
northguineahills:

@Irene: It's weird, since it happens so late down here, and then there are spring sprigs a few weeks later. Further south (like Miami), they leaves don't change at all.

uptowner, good lord. Looks like an early Schiele on the cover. Will check it out. We went to Vienna in 2015 to see the museum with many of the paintings from his brief life. He and his wife died from the Pandemic in 1918.

uptowner, I totally know how you feel. But you can take the show with you on the phone app. Brian, that's a beautiful album by Rachels, BTW. I'll play some of it un an upcoming show. ngh, different Scott Williams, although both are fine guitarists, WFMU's Scott Williams is one of the driving forces on the skeleton crew helping keep things running while we have to stay home.

Good to have you here, Stork! Looking forward to next Sunday's Max Roach tribute.

Me, too, Irene. Really fun putting it together. (how can you go wrong with Roach!, how can you miss with Max?)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:07pm
Brian in UK:

Thanks Irene, sad that Schiele passed so young, he was just starting to use colour well; at least to my untrained eye.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm
Webhamster Henry:

You can see a little biopic on Schiele called "Egon Schiele: Death and he Maiden" on Kanopy. Authentic costumes and Viennese accents!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm
Webhamster Henry:

People are complaining that it's watered down and doesn't spend enough time on his actual art, and I concur.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Brian in UK:

Webhamster Henry, so difficult to show the life of a painter. There can never be a substitute for seeing paintings in front of you.
Avatar 1:15pm
northguineahills:

@Henry: I barely understand lowland German, there's no way I would understand Viennese German (The highland German of Berlin is what I can get by on).

@Irene: that was the joke! ;P

Hi Irene and all. RE: phone app, for anyone on Android there is woof moo app that I really like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
Webhamster Henry:

@Brian/UK It's hard to compress the art-making experience into standard movie times, for sure! La Belle Noiseuse spends a lot of time in the painting process.
@ngh: Viennese is not as impenetrable as all that - and you DO get subtitles! Schwiezerdeüütsch, OTOH, takes some training.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
Irene Trudel:

Hey WR! is that woof moo app different from the regular one?
  1:31pm
uptowner:

@UKBrian - sure thing - I heard _Music for Egon Schiele_ in a coffeeshop about 10 years ago and put it on my acquisition list, but never got to it. So I appreciate the serendipitous reminder (in the form of your asking)
