The Eberly Brothers  Side A   Favoriting Rise & Fall  Self-Released  The Eberly Brothers were originally heard on Wichita Kansas' Public Radio Station KMUW in 1988. During their brief but "stellar" series of "Gospel" Radio Hour shows, they were able to mix a hair-wire take on evangelism of the over-the-top variety (as in parody), with a firm belief in the dotty subject (ala Hendrix) of UFO's and [ahem!] the idea that Jesus was a (entheogenically psychoactive) mushroom, and that he actually drove a UFO - showroom model-into the hereafter and -presumably- the Great beyond.

oh its a bit of a humble brag... i was in a very bad mood one day in the cafeteria fed up with high school in general, so i decided to start a fight, someone i knew sort of knew was sitting across from me and i threw a milk carton at him, he threw it back, so i threw a book, then threw a pile of books, then threw over the entire cafeteria lunch table. i forgetwhat happenened next but we were exchanging punches and i hauled off and punched him in the face, which knocked him off his feet, so much that i remember seeing the bottom of his feet in mid air. next we wrestled each other to floor, when whatever was in my system was gone, and i felt nauseous and some authorities separated us. for some reason the guy said that he started it and got detention and i got off scott free. the next day i see the guy with his nose bandaged, i broke it, and his father scowling at me, but there was no repercussions for me just a bit of perverse violence...

i got in w/ the 'cool' kids during a battle of the bands. Some kid was heckling my friends' band at a battle of the bands when i was a junior in hs. I came on to him (stroked his thigh, and winked at him) (on purpose), he started to wail on me and gave me a broken nose and black eye. the cops saw it, and arrested him. I smiled. The girl i had a crush on asked if her friends can hang w/ me. later, the other arrested fellow's friends came at us on the road w/ baseball bats. luckily, my parents lived in a gated community. so, i got my friends in. That's how i got my first gf...

meh, i was in fort greene, some lads were being rather ambitious.. I told them, that 'my friends all have bfs'. I made sure they got outside before me, and went out the side door w/ my downstairs neighbor (she's was all of 5'2 and 105 lbs), and the six lads beating the living crap out of me, breaking my ocular socket. they restrained my friend. bloodied, i took my flightcases of records home (i had been djing at another club), and got pity sex. My other friends, when they heard what happened, bought me drinks and meals. I can still feel the fracture on my ocular socket to this day. (i stand up for my friends).

i got held up by gunpoint 10 days later, a block away. (i was in grad school), and i actually went to the popo (convinced the guy to leave me my phone and money for breakfast). the popo drove me around, and we found him near BAM. I went to the trial, and he was convicted based on my photographic memory description of him, and he got 8 years...(i was rather pissed off at getting mugged at that point, but still a good talker).

yeah, the first time i got mugged, the cops wanted me to point a finger at a local suspect, he wasn't the one that mugged me. 5 times late (three years, and three times in one summer [that's what i got for living in bed-stuy]), i never went to cops. but the guy who pulled a gun on me, made lose my shit, and i went to the cops. the female detective that was assigned to my case, was classist AF (she was african-american)(and asked me, 'why i lived in this neighborhood'. and said a lot of disparaging comments about my neighbors. I told her to step off, and, my 911 call would speak for itself. and it did).
