I realize that Rocky told a story about visiting Paris in a very early episode. So the reason he refers to police as "Gendarmerie" is not completely out of the blue.

(Though, since Rocky is not very forthcoming with his own past, it is rare that he gives any kind of history to anyone.)

Of course, it does become harder and harder to believe that Sergeant Hamilton J. Finger wouldn't trust Rocky at this point, considering how many previous encounters they've had, and how often Rocky is right. Still, it offers enough friction for the plot, when necessary.

I love suits of armor, and I particularly love when they appear in cheesy movies from the 40's and 50's. If a movie is set in a mansion and there's decorative suits of armor... and maybe ghosts?... then I am in heaven!

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:28pm
Austin Rich:

While I have done a lot of research, and I try to make sure that my playlists are accurate (and the stuff that I say during the breaks is true), I am nervous, because it is a crapshoot, and I have to tap out at a point, and just trust that something I found is likely the MOST true. Still, we can get pretty accurate with a little patience. Still... I am willing to admit that I'm wrong about ALL of it, because there are a lot of places where I can (and probably have been) misled.

Yeah it's really tricky. I'm writing a book/zine on radio right now, with a big section on radio dramas... sometimes you just get so frustrated on the lack of info available...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:33pm

I highly recommend the podcast, "Down These Mean Streets," which includes LOTS of research, a nice host, and they do other shows, if you like their style. ("Stars on Suspense" is fun," and I think there's a third, even?) I can't keep up, but it's a good listen when I tune in.
