Musical delirium induced by sounds from electronic noise to free jazz, drone rock to a capella African song.

Morning Dan and everyone, great stuff! There is also a Scottish indie-rock Barn Owl. Not to confuse things further, like

Love your show and Sunday mornings ... the Kiila is especially nice. This is probably a long shot ... but do you by any chance know of something I lost track of from 1969 .. phonetically like "wo ma neeko, wo man ney ... I'm so glad I'm not dead" ??? Might have been drived from Navaho. Would love to find it again.

I think this is it, Bob -- Jim Pepper, a native musician from the 70s

@Graham - the station has a pretty amazing library and music director. We're also lucky that a lot of the labels that put out this music send their stuff to us since we're one of the few places that will play it. Some other sources of info would be the Wire magazine out of the UK, Signal to Noise magazine from Vermont, lots of blogs and label websites...check out the Foxy Digitalis Blog, that's a good one.

hello Dan, from Tokyo! a pleasure to listen live finally. didja ever end up recording the sounds from the Hodges bridge or the sounds of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge?

Hi Anne, I am ashamed to say I haven't made it to those spots yet, though I did have the Jamaica Bay trip plotted in the spring and was put off by a sudden cold snap. Hoping to get to it this summer, plus I now have a correspondent who wants to do some recorder field work for me at places of my choosing, so I'm hoping to send her down there!

@ Andy -- a Scottish indie-pop Barn Owl?! Ugh. That's almost as disturbing as the indie rock band Toxic Airborne Event!

@Dan I know. It's disturbing that they are now above the show when you google 'airborne event'. Oh right Toxic, iseewhatyoudidthere!

Dan - thanks for that. I love the way there's always something here that's great, but I never new existed. Just like the late great John Peel used to be on the BBC.
I'm afraid I'm dipping in and out of the show because like pretty much everyone in England I'm listening to the cricket on Test Match Special - we're in danger of beating the Australians.

Does this sound like a totally mangled version of the 'Sunday Morning' intro or is it just me?

@Bas - nice to hear from you, sir! @Dr. B - I know, that backmasking changed my life, now I'm going to do *exactly* what Roy said -- worship Stan, eat Saul's fur, and live in eternal blackness. @Car - have a great trip to Slovakia, watch out for the flying boulders of Muzduk the Mountain Man, Slovakia's first Harvard Law alum.
