Happy Birthday Dan! Many happy returns (whatever that actually means)!

Thanks Bas & Andy. I always think of Winnie the Pooh when I think of the phrase "many happy returns of the day" because that's where I first learned that "many happy returns" means keep living more so you can have more birthdays!

That makes sense! When I was little I thought it was 'returns' as in presents you received and didn't like so had to take them back to the shop. Which does not make sense.

Happy birthday Dan!
Did that Art Institute record really have the line:
"Your fanny's like two sperm whales floating down the Seine"
do you reckon that's a complement or an insult?

@James, thanks - what kind of work?
@Graham, yeah, that IS the lyric, and you ask the question I have always wondered about. I think it might be a surrealist compliment.

Happy birthday, I hope you're on the next schedule. I also hope someone recorded yesterday's set of Nihilist Spasm Band with Sun Plexus 2. That was so good it'd be a shame having that greatness restricted to those who were actually there.

@Fred, yeah, I'll be right here during the next schedule (which starts a week from tomorrow, BTW). Jeffrey Davidson will be back on Sat mornings, too, which I'm very happy to see! Don't know about a recording of the NSB w/SP2 - where was that show?

That show was at Instants Chavires in Montreuil, France. The venue is in serious trouble but this show took place anyway thanks to Bimbo Tower (best record shop in Paris). There's a double LP imprint out there, hopefully it's as good as last night show was, but I can't say yet. I'm in the process of waking up, and even though I bought it yesterday I haven't given it a listen.

Great show. Happy b.day. Good to hear I.S.B., Radiohead, and Neil Y. in one show. Wow and Glass Harp! Hadn't heard them since like '73 or something. And the Swans. Ouch.
