MASH has been a fave of mine since I first got a TV in my room back in the early 90s. FOX showed it every night at 11PM for years. I still watch it most weeknights on METV. The original MASH film by Robert Altman is fantastic. The TV series had its ups and downs, the early seasons with Henry Blake and Trapper were actually funnier, but that series finale is very, very well done and emotional. Yes, M. Feld----mixed feelings about the Hall. As far as who gets in/got in, it's a joke---ABBA & Jay-Z have nothing to do with R&R, while bands that embody the spirit of R&R, like Los Lobos, NRBQ, etc. are ignored. The Go-Go's are looong overdue (as well as the Bangles, although the GG's were chart-toppers 1st), as well as the Dolls (for influence, if not sales). That said, I heard the actual museum is good & maybe one day I'll get there...we were in Memphis a year and a half ago, & I'd certainly recommend Sun Studios & Graceland for rock history/artifacts. In fact, Graceland now has other buildings full of different exhibits, which I think change from time to time. We saw Buddy Holly's suit & a drawing of Elvis a young Hendrix did after one of his concerts.

I was surprised to see in a documentary that the Go-Gos were as tough if not even tougher than the Bangs in the early days. You don't hear that toughness on the IRS records until the 3rd record, Talk Dhow, when the band was disintegrating. ("Turn To You" remains one of my favorite numbers.) It was suggested that it would nice to go out and get some takeout food, the problem there is what a lot of people don't realize is that it's another good way of contracting covid-19, or God who knows what else. When you think about it you don't know who's preparing your food and just how sanitary they are, I mean they're talking while preparing your food and spittle leaves their mouth and they sweat on it, etc. And that's just by accident. and then you have the a-holes that deliberately contaminate your food. Don't sweat the R&R Hall of Fame, Michael. NRBQ is just one of dozens of artists who are worthy of induction. @northguineahills Lakeshore Records. It was on Park Ave around the corner from my house.

There are at least 3 great record store that are still going there.

Record Archive: It's huuuuge. Huge selection of used records, and other music-related stuff. It used to be in a big yellow wooden building near UofR, but now it's in a warehouse on University Ave (which has no university on it) on the east side.

House of Guitars: the place will make you crazy, because it's so disorganized, but they have just about every record and every guitar ever made. On Titus Ave in Irondequoit.

The Bop Shop, formerly in the city on Goodman, now just outside the city in Brighton on Monroe Ave. Rob Filardo, owner of the Garage Pop label, works there. My friend nicknamed him Every Band because he played drums or bass in most of the best bands, including the Quitters, the Grinders, the Priests, ...

Can't go there now. Thanks, COVID.
