I avoid talking much about the Fab 4. But I knew "For Sale" as "Beatles '65" in the US. Better album cover here. BB - Re: Sutherland Brothers - you might check out "Arms of Mary" from their 1975 LP Reach for the Sky. Highly recommended listening.

@coelacanth∅: The Beatles version is a completely different animal, it's their take on Little Richard's "Kansas City/Hey Hey Hey Hey" which differs quite a bit from the Wilbert Harrison or Hermits version. it was quite confusing when I was a kid! I still love the BFS version, Ringo swings like mad. and Paul's slays it with his vocal!

Bob, wasn't that Annie O. mural in the post office? Was it later moved to the library?

Bob, I dunno. Something about the descending mag-net and the descending duh-duh at the end of the 2nd bar of Bird's melody, I guess. When you played them back to back, they just struck me like they belonged together.

love SB & Quiver - Lifeboat is great, and agree @ATLdondi, "Arms of Mary" is top notch. they opened a bunch of Kinks shows in late '70's, it was so good to see them!

Bob, coincidentally an artist, who started out as '30s muralist then went more surreal, lived in Nutley: Michael Lenson. Used to write art columns in the Newark paper.

TDK60, Nutley had an artists enclave on a street called The Enclosure.

DD oh i know it's a different song...i shouldn't have mentioned it!
it's just that when i saw the song title, when i was a kid, i did expect the other song and was disappointed.
...but since we're back on the subject i should probably say that "stellar" might be a bit strong terminology! but it is excellent

Hi Bob - regarding your playing Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys; such a coincidence because we just finished watching the Ken Burns Country Music series. It gave me a gigantic appreciation for this type of music and its history. I’m almost 60 and grew up with a father who listened to country music, as well as watching Hee-Haw on Saturday’s. I now know I really missed out by not paying this music more notice at the time and understanding how it influenced all types of genres. What a great, important project by Ken Burns!
