Hello Sheila,
I hope you are having a great Friday. Our cat Dougal lost his spirited and defiant battle against cancer and heart disease last week. He was a great friend to me for twelve years and to my wife for fourteen. He was one of the most extroverted and engaging cats I ever knew.

Thank you, Jett, as long as my wife and I have our memories, Dougal will live in them. Shelby, we take the risk of suffering crushing loss each time we bond with a new furry friend. It's one's choice to open oneself up again. Now we are able to channel our sense of loss through Junior, holding him a little more tightly than we did in the past.

I was replying by myself to the radio how you were not failing to explain yourself, it was immediately crystal clear ! (from witnessing it and living through similar situationS) although it is totally understandable that it feels so uncomfortable to relate it (as usual with truths and the relativity of human experiences).
Unfortunately it would take so long to talk about this while being fair to everyone in this.
I will just say something that I believe in my heart to be true, even when it seems hard to live by, hoping it might help: we should not see It as a competition between each other.

(felt prompted to reply to this as "the pressure of numbers" during my last birthday made me go through the exact anxiety, plus it was like you were in my head since I have been thinking exactly about this ever since and up to like just earlier in the day I think ! :D)

I also agree Rick & shelby, Soviet bloc pop music is 1 of my areas of interest as a musicologist. I can sympathize with fear of loneliness due to aging, especially as someone with dating app experience. Problem is, when you lie about your age (or anything else for that matter), you will be rejected just for the dishonesty alone. The other person instantly thinks "what else would they lie about?". It's a self-fulfilling prophecy of rejection.
