I finally saw the Moody Blues a few years back after being a fan for 50+ years. Absolutely hated the gig! They did a bunch of tunes (from the ‘80s?) that the audience went bonkers over. Thought the material was mediocre. Hey, what’s Alan Price been doing?

	♥ 12:03pm Franco Twinkie: I remember the first time I had that burning desire to go see a show that was out of my reach. It was New Years Eve 1969 at the Olympic Auditorium in L.A. The line up was - Love, The Youngbloods, Blue Cheer, Southwind and War. That following summer Spill The Wine was huge. The 70's had started and there was no turning back.

	1:01pm (Mr) Bill: I’m with wmfromdumont, with “A Question of Balance” a creditable runner-up. “Every Good ... Favour” has a special place in my heart for being my portal to the group. A depressed 16-year-old middle-class suburban White kid aspiring to be the most sensitive male in the U.S. couldn’t not find “The Story in Your Eyes” to be the most cosmic piece of music since the Biblical Song of Songs.
	♥ 1:03pm Irene Trudel: To Our Children's Children's Children, absolutely my fave, followed closely by In Search of the Lost Chord. I first heard Children's when visiting a friend at Rutgers. It was Halloween and we dropped acid. As we walked into a student lounge, "Beyond" was playing on WRSU (which was piped into the lounge), quickly followed by "Out and In." I'd liked The Moodys before that but was totally hooked with this.
	1:04pm (Mr) Bill: “Go Now” was originally a (minor) Motown hit, I believe.

	1:05pm (Mr) Bill: Are the Moodys pretty much ignored or trashed by “serious” rock critics?
	1:06pm Bob Brainen: (Mr) Bill, I'd say so. Inducted into RnR HoF in 2021, they were eligible in 1990(!) if that says anything.

	♥ 1:08pm Irene Trudel: You know it! A great album even when not in an altered state. Later that same night we all went to see Andy Warhol's "Frankenstein" 3D. I remember laughing hysterically throughout the movie. Only tried LSD a few times because it got too weird for me.

Interesting the relation between 'Lose your Money' & 'Outside Woman Blues' by Cream - one guesses from a common Blues root ? ...Can't help but think of Frank O'Toole whenever there's Moodys on FMU... Always regarded the Moody Blues as a major link between Psychedelia & Progressive Rawk - probly yeah under-credited by Critics for their place. I often also think of the Moodys - relating to that - as a sort of flipside to earlier Pink Floyd - one that didn't relate to Psych as the Screaming Terrors ...& who said Psych must be the Screaming Terrors ? 	♥ 12:03pm Franco Twinkie: I remember the first time I had that burning desire to go see a show that was out of my reach. It was New Years Eve 1969 at the Olympic Auditorium in L.A. The line up was - Love, The Youngbloods, Blue Cheer, Southwind and War. That following summer Spill The Wine was huge. The 70's had started and there was no turning back.

	12:03pm Eugene J Bentley: I saw an interview with Carole King who penned Don't Bring Me Down with Gerry. She met up with Eric Burden at a clinic. She told him that she hated what he did to her song. 'But I learned to live with it'.

A depressed 16-year-old middle-class suburban White kid aspiring to be the most sensitive male in the U.S. couldn’t not find “The Story in Your Eyes” to be the most cosmic piece of music since the Biblical Song of Songs.

It was Halloween and we dropped acid. As we walked into a student lounge, "Beyond" was playing on WRSU (which was piped into the lounge), quickly followed by "Out and In." I'd liked The Moodys before that but was totally hooked with this.

Interesting the relation between 'Lose your Money' & 'Outside Woman Blues' by Cream - one guesses from a common Blues root ? ...Can't help but think of Frank O'Toole whenever there's Moodys on FMU... Always regarded the Moody Blues as a major link between Psychedelia & Progressive Rawk - probly yeah under-credited by Critics for their place. I often also think of the Moodys - relating to that - as a sort of flipside to earlier Pink Floyd - one that didn't relate to Psych as the Screaming Terrors ...& who said Psych must be the Screaming Terrors ?
