Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am
Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am
Jan Turkenburg:

After the show I will check which song sounded just before 8:27 and post it here
  8:50am
MHLee:

Good deal. Charlie Poole was a huge early recorder in country. He was moving tons of records in the 1920s.
  8:56am
MHLee:

On a worse topic, I think my state currently leads the world in cases per person. The are over 230,000 cases for 1.7 million people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am
Jan Turkenburg:

I have another idea. I'll let this show go in overtime a bit and compare your youtube link with what sounded before your comment. Let's have some fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58am
Jan Turkenburg:

that's bad. I heard Surinam is approaching 'code black' when hospitals have to start to refuse patients that need immediate intervention..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58am
MHLee:

The show says recordings 1986-1910.

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 9:15am
WR:

So which one was it that has the same verse melody as good by booze. i heard you play it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am
Jan Turkenburg:

Columbia Orchestra - Creole Belles youtu.be...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm
MHLee:

youtu.be...
Mississippi John Hurt played "My Creole Belle" as a blues song. Same melody. It's quite possible Poole picked up the melody from the blues rather than this orchestra
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am
MHLee:

Vess Osman also plays it on banjo in 1902... safe to safe Charlie was familiar
