First in, I'll have a good scotch to go (will be listening in the car after about a half hour, bringing my daughter to her new apartment in NYC, then to an afternoon matinee at the Village Vanguard with John Zorn's New Masada Quartet. Should be able to hear a good bit in the car, catch up with the rest in the archive.
And, hi!

' Barney Kessel (October 17, 1923 – May 6, 2004) was an American jazz guitarist born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Known in particular for his knowledge of chords and inversions and chord-based melodies, he was a member of many prominent jazz groups as well as a "first call" guitarist for studio, film, and television recording sessions. Kessel was a member of the group of session musicians informally known as the Wrecking Crew. '

I hope you're not to far in the hole, RR. This is when the squirrels are stashing nuts all over the place.

FT - The work hasn’t started yet, I have some family things I gotta help with and simplify my life before I make the big move.

Happy to prolong, chresti! Hard to top that record. And we got 2 hours to try!

That brings me back to my college years, when I was into Public Enemy, Riot Grrrls and Billie Holiday, a surefire way to fit nowhere

There existed a fabulous country restaurant in Rosemont, NJ, called The Cafe, romantic, and candle lit - this show was its soundtrack

Excellent bicycle maintenance music, too. Can't align fenders to just anything.

The idea of my show actually enhancing the quality of auto repair work simply blows my mind.

@Stork: your show enhances the quality of anything going on, however shady. You just have to deal with it

Another outstanding show - thank you @Stork from a fellow Jersey native (Morris County) I’m working to this wonderful music today too

Been listening the whole time, great tribute! (Those early rock n roll tracks were cool)!
Thanks!

Thanks, doc! Yeah, I wish I could find more of those wacko-sounding rock stuff.

Speaking of atrocities, can you DJ a pointless meeting at 10am? It has to be 10am because one of the bosses who lives in Germany mandated the hour, and he's not budging, because... rules?
Avatar 3:01pm
Stork:

Sure, fred - the usual ear-splitting, doomy, Skandanavian death-metal mix? That meeting will adjourn no later than 10:12.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:04pm
fred:

@Stork: Sounds like a plan. Might not work out as planned but if that sends my workplace on a doom trajectory, all the better
Avatar 3:05pm
Stork:

Very crappy recording quality on this, unfortch - such a great, impassioned solo by The Barn. Buzzy speakers and a bad wire someplace. Still - what a beauty this album is!!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
fred:

I mean, I saw Stephen O'Malley walk by my office a couple of times, so it might take a lot to disrupt a meeting there (got any harsh noise wall?)

Talking a walk with you, Stork. If I don't pop back on again...thanks!

@fred : There is the previous basement band from 2015ish on bandcamp :
pokerknights.bandcamp.com
- I am the noisy distorto wah-wah Lead Gittar...
Context: I've *always* played, but *never* to a goal. To actually be in a band with *nearly* all the pieces, & with a SingerSongwriter was actually a big deal & a steep learning curve for me ! - altho' that's fundamental stuff for 'real Musicians'.

I actually use the WFMU show's playlist number, with the DJ's name thrown in when I sign up for something. Then forget it

Oh, chresti, good news - the thought of someone working - - and on a Sunday!!! The horror...the horror.
Avatar 3:52pm
Stork:

Thank you sweet Clubbers. And keep your ears glued - GLUE THEM, DAMMIT! to your device and Lady Chantacleer and DJ No Good Nick will take care of the rest in turn.
See you with bells a jingle-janglin already next Sunday, mebbe?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:53pm
fred:

@Stork: Part of what makes Sundays so enjoyable is the toil of people who do work to make us think it's a day of leisure.
