Talk about longevity! The Isley Brothers have released records under their name in every decade since the 50s, including this decade. Passing the baton, of course, to younger members of the clan.

  3:35pm
Gerry from Miami:

DENNY, thanks for playing the Les Elgart version of the original "American Bandstand" theme! I don't know how many hundreds(maybe even 1000+) of times I heard that song after I raced home every day after school to watch Dick Clark and his cool teen cast of dancers do their thing and cheer on his lip-syncing guest stars. I studied at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia from 1964 to 1969 and, along with my sophomore year roommate, made the pilgrimage a few times to the building where "Bandstand" was staged. It wasn't all that far from our dormitory at 37th and Spruce. The show had already moved to LA, but we got a kick out of seeing this "hallowed space." MY HUMBLE OPINION----"I thought it had a nice beat and I could easily dance to it. Dick, I'd give it a 98!"

Gotta run for now Denny - Thanks a million for the tunes today!!

  3:44pm
Gerry from Miami:

Just One more "Bandstand" afterthought---didn't Barry Manilow write a set of lyrics to that venerable tune?
