I think the proper translation for 'fluitregister' the upper top register of the female voice would be 'whistle register', because they're singing as high as a whistler then.

listening to the first half, lovely multi threaded episode around nesting and elephant. One surprise for me is the vocal by Denny Dennis. Had me thinking of Bing Crosby but with rich baritone tone.
  Swag For Life Member 9:56am
WR:

Hi Jan, can you add in the comments the name of the Dutch writer who published a book with story line like Horton Hatches the Egg? Unfamiliar name hard to understand by some of us who don't know Dutch. There was a Warner Bros. cartoon made in 1942 which is my memory source for the story and the voice of Horton. This Marvin Miller version you list as recorded in 1947. Haven't found listing for that yet, but he got a Grammy award in early 60s for his Seuss releases on LP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am
Jan Turkenburg:

Annie MG Schmidt, I added the info and a link to the story in the comment of Horton Hatches the Egg part 1
  Swag For Life Member 9:52am
WR:

The Artie Shaw track, Sad Sack, also catches my attention. Small proto bebop ensemble. Looking at discogs and finding online live recordings of the songs for comparison, I'm pretty sure what you played is Artie Shaw Gramercy Five with Roy Eldridge, Barney Kessel, Dodo Marmarosa and is the flip side, The Grabtown Grapple, not Sad Sack. Thank you for the excellent selection.

Thanks, now I remember I already had my doubts, when compiling the list but completely forgot about it later. I will change it.

Edward Krolikowski? Maybe Polish.
