Hey Mr Fab!
Well, Rich, renovation still isn't finished and I'm really starting to get fed up with it... but then again... It's better than living in Charkiv...

Hello Jan. Sheena's streamers and dreamers. Working but not on a call to make me have to turn it down.

Hi WR!

WR:

Garry Moore isn't the guy in the photo, who I think is Gary Cooper.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
Jan Turkenburg:

whoops, you're right...
  Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
WR:

They just announced Garry Moore, who was a host and comedian.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, the Garry Moore show. Big brain fog overhere today...

“Caught playing Tiddlywinks with a loaded Tiddly.” I love this stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Rich in Washington:

you can't blame that guy for trying to act like Gary Cooper.
(super duper)

Ah. Coffee finally kicking in. Now it's my sworn duty as an American citizen to read the latest about Depp v. Heard.

Mr Fab:

Dorothy Shay, the Park Avenue Hillbillie! She did some fun stuff. Weird gimmick: sing classy jazz songs with backwoods country lyrics.

greetings Jan and all. May Day on a Sunday feels like a lost opportunity (with apologies to American people who don't ever get to celebrate a day with American origins)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
Rich in Washington:

I still want to hear Clapton's Tears In Heaven done in this style.

David in California:

Hello, Jan. Frankie Laine comes across as quite admirable in his Wikipedia entry, particularly for his support of civil rights.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hello David!
Avatar 12:46pm
Mr Fab:

i would LOVE more Spike-style parodies. But there was a group called My Dick that would take famous songs and change the lyrics so that the song was about, well, their dicks. And yes, "Tears In Heaven" was one of them.

I'm getting old: I usually try to track - even join - the anarchist parades on May Day (no more than ten people can start or end at the same place). Not this time
  Swag For Life Member 12:48pm
WR:

Somehow I had missed that Frankie Laine's career had such deep roots in pre-war swing, etc. Though he didn't have wide success until late 40s and 50s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hello fred!
Avatar 12:49pm
Mr Fab:

fred, it sounds like anarchist parades have rules?!
  Swag For Life Member 12:50pm
WR:

Hi Fred
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
fred:

@Mr Fab: Of course: how else can you introduce a dissent motion from them otherwise?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
fred:

To clarify: I'm talking about the Spanish Anarchist/Socialist movement from rue des Vignoles, it may not apply to the next street
