After my crash when conciousness had returned with me lying in the road, some people had put the bike on its stand on the pavement. The lights were still on and my first question was, can someone turn them off, it will drain the battery.

Rev - oh yeah, you have to ride your own ride. and years of biking have helped you for sure. awareness and spotting potential threats.
Brian - every time I've crashed a bike I've been more worried about the bike than myself when I first get up. That's my baby! haha

as a rider, never position yourself directly behind a car stopped in front of you. either filter to the front of the line of cars, or position yourself just outside of the car in front of you. This protects you from being sandwiched.

Marshall Crenshaw's Knowing Me, Knowing You is excellent. I think I heard him do it live? At his CBGB 20th anniversary show in...when? 1992?
Dano59:
Marshall's live cover was on 'I Suffered for My Art,' iirc.

Sometime around 1988 I remember a NUTS old woman in one of these moto-wheelchairs, camped out by the Silver Spring metro station (outside DC), deliberately ramming into people. Like a predator. She'd be there every few days, for weeks. She was FANTASTIC.
