This episode can also easily be found elsewhere on the internet, but as I said: no reason to leave it out here. I want to air as much Spike Jones Radio recordings as I can possibly find.

I wonder if Coca Cola sponsors any radio programs today. Or if those days are long gone.

I had a weird experience yesterday at a gagaku show. I was thinking it was boring but at least short. It actually lasted two hours. So my time experience was split. And it was definitely over 64: the form was codified in the 12th century

Mr Fab:

What is gagaku? Sounds Japanese.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
fred:

@Mr Fab: Japanese court music, very slow
Avatar 12:48pm
Mr Fab:

That’s a fascinating psychological
phenomenon, fred. Sounds like you were somewhat hypnotized.

Mr. Oxford:

@Fred, Thanks for telling us about Gagaku music. I just watched a short video from UNESCO showing a Gagaku performance. It is fascinating but could not watch it all the way through. The music is pretty slow. But maybe it is more captivating when seen and heard in person. The music and performance are fascinating nevertheless.

@Mr Fab: there's a composer at work who's interested into Negativland and copyright issues. I pointed him to the ECC, Vicki, Wobbly's stuff in Barcelona and Ergo Phizmiz. Any further suggestions? I guess you have insight too, would you be open to chatting with him?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm

hi fred, gagaku? I've yet to see performance in person . some day.

Sure, I was very involved in that scene as you may know, often under the name “RIAA.” He can contact me at mrfab3@hotmail.com. I dumped a ton of my old release onto archive.org.

Listened to the archive, to catch the Karloff episode which I had only caught the end of on Saturday. One question in my mind, in the skit when the creature comes alive it begins to sing a song. The audience's immediate reaction makes it seem to me that they recognize the song and a known entertainer that is being evoked. I've listened to it a few times and have no clue. Anyone have an idea?
