Avatar 3:37pm
Debbie Davenport:

I had a close encounter with a bear when I was pregnant. I didn't feel like I had to shoot it. That was why I got the pressure. we were thinking of moving to alaska and people were saying you have to shoot bears if you're going to live there.
I think there is probably a way to coexist.
Avatar 3:38pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Kittimu @3:37
stalking songs and gun songs tend to be good. maybe because the topic is intense.
  3:38pm
?:

yeah people should stay away from bears
Avatar 3:39pm

Yeah I was lucky me and my baby weren't attacked. I still don't feel like I have to kill them though. just avoid close encounters.

I watched this cool video on youtube that was set in Canada. A bear was in the guy's yard the way we often see a deer in a yard. Then in stereotypical Canadian form he was super polite to the bear. The bear then responded politely and left.

There are three bears in the video. Holllyyyy I would be scared. The guy says "I hope you enjoyed my backyard. Have a good day!" So polite...wish the whole world was like this.
Avatar 3:53pm
Debbie Davenport:

↳ Cheree July @3:48
Yeah! I Heard about it through Robin Wills. One of the people Don kept encouraging me to pay attention to since I'm so into Don's programming. Then recently I finally got something I heard on this show years ago, because Robin helped. Yay!
I need to send our fearless leader another offering of vinyl. I think of it like a church tithe for turning me onto the junkshop glam. PLus other genres of obscure stuff I never heard of. I try to time it with WFMU donating. This year I got out of sync with that though.

Well the Canadian accent is a pretty distinct one. I have noticed it always stands out for Americans.

Whenever I say 'sorry', 'house' or 'about' most people don't notice any accent. Americans, however, immediately catch it and ask "Did you live in Canada at some point of time?" Aaand I reply, "Yes, I spent some time there".

Derek of “Transmissions From Echo Beach” never thought he had a Canadian accent til listeners started commenting on it in the chat. There was one funny episode where he got real self-conscious about it and kept trying to say the word “about” without an accent. Did not go well, haha.
  4:32pm

gonna pay between $25-$30 for Skid
