The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

Recorded Sept 5, 2024 at Cape Disappointment WW2 bunker located at the Oregon coast.

One single mono recording of myself bowing a long 32 inch "musical saw" inside a large concrete bunker from WW2. Nothing was touched on this recording. One simple recording without any mastering or doctoring of the recording. All sounds are from the room's acoustics reverberating from the bowed saw. The distant ocean can be heard rumbling throughout the large bunker. credits

I had this thing with bandcamp where I would get fraud alert notices and my card even got frozen couple of times. I asked the lady at the bank and the fraud squad guy I had to talk to on the phone if it could be because all these different charges were in the same checkout basket, therefore happening really, they all said that couldn't be it. Then I started charging everything going to different accounts separately so there would be at least a minute between the checkouts, and it stopped

Since you played this, I'm reminded of an interesting bit of dark nostalgia (and these are TRUE stories): a DJ I listen to on a certain local college station played Fad Gadget's "Collapsing New People" (which I recorded) the day before the 9-11 attacks. Also, 10 days earlier, I actually was at the WTC, accidentally of my own doing because I meant to take the north PATH train route to 6th Ave. & W. 4th St., but made the most of it by eating at the Sbarro on the ground floor plaza before heading of to the Bowery Ballroom to catch the show I was planning to see that day.
