We are in the "end run" for Rogue's Gallery. We only have a few episodes left, and and we're at a point where the show had moved to a new network, and was repeating a few of the more popular stories from earlier in the series. So if this story sounds familiar... that might be why! (We heard a different version of this story, early in the Rogue's Gallery run. But this is a new version / production.)

There's pretty good sound quality on this one, but I did a tiny bit of EQ to help things sound that much better. Certainly much better than the original version they staged of this story.

This episode of Rocky Jordan was a little messy, and required a fair amount of clean-up and EQ. It still sounds a little off, and I think I could have done some more repair. But the main fix comes near the end; the phone call at the end needed a lot of help. I'll talk about it later...

I think the speed is a fraction slower, but speeding it up sounded weird. So... we will live with it.

Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:53pm
Austin Rich:

For some reason, this part of the show sounds too "fast" to my ear, but again, adjusting the speed sounded off, too. Repairing these shows can be tricky; some of my first impulses aren't always the best thing for the overall sound.

Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 10:40pm

There's some sadder, more melancholic music in this episode, moreso than the usual X-Minus One episode. It's almost like a Peanuts cartoon, in that regard.

  👻 10:53pm
Heather Z:

↳ Austin Rich @10:48
I think I'm a pretty good traveler but it would take a lot for me to do a trip like this! My ex husband and I sometimes couldn't even have a peaceful ride to the suburbs but I can think of some people I'd go to space with if I had to.

Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 10:56pm

The close quarters and the long periods of isolation would be hard, and knowing you might never see other people or survive would be hard.

I'm not sure I'm deep space material.
  👻 10:58pm

The amount of time in the close quarters would be rough. I'd stay home if I had the choice.

Yes! A lot of that Peanuts cartoon music is so sad. There was something about the late 60's / early 70's that made everyone want to make kids sad.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 11:02pm

I sort of love the way this story turns out. It's got a creepy sort of tone / ending that I find very strange for 1956... shades of things to come.
