On Krampus being next week, I found this t-shirt and I was totally going to buy it for Ken, until I realized... I'm not sure of Ken's thoughts on T-Shirts. I also don't know Ken's size.

  9:31am fofo (:

Bobtallica is also needed.
  9:31am Mark:

nothing says Christmas like Bob Dylan
  9:31am still b/p:

I think it's the first time I've seen this nice message that came with the brief outage: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."
  9:31am hamburger:

just need some farm yard animals singing christmas classics to top it off
  9:31am Sam:

That Wayne Butane was brilliant
  9:32am Cheri Pi:

I'm glad Loutallica decided to keep it real and not Autotune
  9:32am Ken:

Streams should all be back now.. let me know! I'd hate for anybody to miss this incredible music i am playing.
  9:33am popeye:

Nobody does Satchmo like Dylan
  9:33am popeye:

Nobody does Satchmo like Dylan
  9:33am dc pat:

yep, Loutallica still sucks.
  9:34am still b/p:

If Lou sang a little higher here, it'd sound like the rock singing that Mark Wahlberg was doing in the recording studio in Boogie Nights.
  9:34am AnAnonymousParty:

Loud and clear, and incredible here.
  9:34am jamesie:

I love homer simpson
  9:35am Torbjørn:

I'm streaming so much Loutallica right now over the 128k stream right noe ..
  9:35am Olive Oyl:

I did Satchmo once, back in the day. He gave me some weed.
  9:36am fofo (:

AnAnonymousParty,

This also sounds Lou and clear, but not that incredible.
  9:37am Ken:

Lou Reed will be on Seven Second Delay next week! I kid you not.
  9:37am Mark:

for the Lulu haters:

http://runningthevoodoodown.blogspot.com/2011/10/perfect.html
  9:38am Sam:

Some day you'll play something so terrible it will shut down the entire cat-free internet
  9:38am dc pat:

Holy shit. I'm going to re-adjust my whole week to hear Lou on 7SD!
  9:39am Dave B:

EXCELLENT! The Dokaka Encyclopedia just arrived in my mail yesterday!
  9:39am ?:

Dokaka kicks Metallica's ass
  9:40am fofo (:

20 years from now pundits will regard Loutallica as the musical movement that captured the zeitgeist of the post-Bush era.
  9:40am Cecile:

Good morning, Ken.
Could you slide on The Great Deceiver by King Crimson for me? It's dedicated to....someone I know
  9:41am popeye:

Satchmo said u did him 4 weed. Nicknamed u Oyl o lay
  9:42am Ken:

What should I ask Lou? Think Andy can make Lou laugh?
  9:42am Cecile:

I love Metallica, warts and all. Even though they haven't made a great record since 1986
  9:43am Cecile:

Ask Lou if he watches Ru Paul's Drag Race. He's certainly written about queens enough of them in his day.
  9:44am popeye:

Ask if he does impressions
  9:44am Ken:

Popeye, give it a rest.
  9:45am Aaron in Minneapolis:

Does Andy even know who Lou Reed is? And are we talking about the same Lou Reed here or is it a gag?
  9:45am Van in Dallas:

Oh goody. I didn't miss The Only Song.
  9:45am Sam:

Andy should ask Lou Reed "What did you do TODAY?"
  9:45am still b/p:

Ask him if he heard that Cale is recording with Metallica next.
  9:46am Cecile:

Ask him to do an accapella version of "The Ostrich".
  9:47am glenn:

wouldn't cale record with megadeth? just to piss everybody off?
  9:47am Cecile:

sbp, no Cale with Megadeth! Ha! I'd love to see that. He and Dave Mustaine would be punching each other out in five mnutes.
  9:47am Cecile:

HA! glenn.
  9:48am glenn:

great minds, and all that.
  9:48am Mark:

if you ask Lou some of there questions, you'll set the record for shortest appearance by a guest on 7SD
  9:48am Cecile:

You had Tony Shalhoub, and he was completely appalled.
  9:48am dc pat:

ask him who's more important, him or Brian Wilson.
  9:48am Lizardner Dave:

I'm betting on Tom Scharpling doing a reading of his "Lou Reed at Starbucks" twitter thing myself.
  9:48am Vivian:

Ask him about life with Laurie Anderson!
  9:49am Cecile:

Does Lars Ulrich swim around in his money like Scrooge McDuck?
  9:49am trrs:

Lou Reade ?
  9:49am JJJ:

I got a soft spot for reggae christmas music
  9:49am Lizardner Dave:

@ttrs yes, and his brother Duane too.
  9:50am Cecile:

the John Fahey Christmas album is guaranteed to piss everyone off. I've seen it first hand. First it sounds good, but then you get stabby because he's being so deliberately montonous.
  9:50am Richard from Venezuela:

Good Morning Ken and all the listeners.
  9:51am Cecile:

I've been in restaurants where people demanded it be turned off. And when we would play in the record store, almost as many people would demand it get turned off as Eugene Chadbourne's Guitar Trios III.
  9:51am Some Guy:

The "Evil Santa" Christmas Card is a hoax.

  9:53am Cecile:

hey, Ken, do you remember the weird Discount Records on the corner of State and Liberty in Ann Arbor back in the day? I worked there for about two and a half years. It was a trip!
  9:53am fofo (:

Welcome pana!
  9:53am Cecile:

almost as many good stories as working with crazy Brian at Wazoo records.
  9:54am Mark:

a question for Lou: who is a bigger tool Lars Ulrich of James Hetfield?
  9:54am Cecile:

sbp, if you can relay that to him, or if someone could...
  9:54am Terry is cooking:

"Britney_at_Skrewdriver_Show", FTW and happy holidays!
  9:54am Ken:

Oh my God Cecile, I remember that place! That place sucked! Why didnt you work at Schoolkids?
  9:54am other david:

Oh how I wish Mrs. Miller and Wing had crossed paths and done a duet.

*wistful sigh*
  9:55am Some Guy:

The cards say "bradmcginty.com" on them, and they are supposedly printed in tthe 1950s. Funny, but pretty fake.
  9:55am Cecile:

I like Lars. He's kind of clueless. James kinda scares me. I would not want to piss that guy off.
  9:55am popeye:

Ken ur an evil genius
  9:55am jan:

American Christmas Devil is Japanese
  9:55am Some Guy:

American Christmas Devil is American.
  9:56am Cecile:

I tried, Ken! THen I was offered a job, but my best friend didn't have a job, so I told them to hire her. She's the one who ended up in NYC in a prime biz position. But she had actual social skills. I probably would have gotten my ass fired. I think I just kept that job because I made Peter the crazy classical guy laugh. And I was a student hire who actually showed up for work.
  9:56am glenn:

i thought american christmas devil was newt gingrich.
  9:58am Cecile:

They did let me order records. I ordered some crazy shit.
It was fun watching Scratch Acid records and lesbian folk records sell out and John Waite records sit on the wall unsold.
  9:58am Cecile:

Also the only two artists the staff could agree on were Snakefinger and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
  9:59am Ken:

You mustve worked there long after I left town Cecile. There wasnt a single good record in there from 1977-1982.
  9:59am glenn:

like phranc?
  9:59am Cheri Pi:

Ask Lou if Laurie get's pissed when he stays up late jamming with Metallica. If so, would he consider group therapy to get everyone's feeling out in the open.
  10:00am Andrea on the M62:

phranc?
  10:00am Mark:

ah, lesbian folk
  10:00am ditdoc:

Someone posted Abe Simpson with Metallica to Youtube.
  10:01am Cecile:

that and Lucie Blue Tremblay, Holly Near, pretty much on the Olivia label I could order ten of, and it would sell. Sometimes in a single weekend if there were GLBT events or concerts.
  10:01am glenn:

former lesbian folk singer, now top selling lesbian mary kay salesperson.
  10:01am Cecile:

The Michigan Women's Gathering was starting to pick up steam and we weren't too far away from it.
  10:02am Cecile:

I believe it's Tupperware.
  10:03am glenn:

oh. i think you're right.
  10:03am Webhamster Henry:

Ken - you should at least play some Carl Stalling music.
  10:03am Cecile:

But this was in the days just as Soundscan was coming in. Stores and labels could still report any crap to Billboard and it would chart, even though the public wasn't excited about it.
  10:04am glenn:

but come on, wouldn't it be much better if phranc was cruising around in a pink convertible?
  10:05am Cecile:

metallica's master of puppets changed the game. No stores were reporting it was selling, they were above it. But Soundscan showed it was the number #1 record in the country. That also really helped genres like country and funk.
  10:05am still b/p:

I like the painting of the Rocket Jellyfish Inducing The Ecstasy Of St. Teresa.
  10:05am Cecile:

It would be nice, but I use Tupperware. Mary Kay makes me break out.
  10:06am Cecile:

Anyway, I missed what was a great show/Tupperware sales party. There's this drag queen who puts on an interactive "Tony and Tina" style Tupperware party with music and food and books it in theatres across the country. It's supposed to be hysterical.
  10:07am Andrea on the M62:

those clown puppets are freakin me out
  10:07am Cecile:

I haven't bought Tupperware in years, but I get it as gifts. I go for moral support for the hostessses.
  10:08am Booker:

Lou Reed? Don't famous guests always bail on 7SD at the last minute? I always imagine the cell call from their handler: "Look, sorry, this was a mistake, they're a joke. Forget it. My bad." Famous Talent: "OK, got it, whatever you say."
  10:09am j:

im imagining a freeform radio with no schedules no "guy" shows up at 1:00 PM every wednesday for two hours then another "guy" ,,, no schedule ,,
  10:11am Detroit Mac:

I'm ready for some Xmas Throat Singing! Jingle Bells would work.
  10:13am fofo (:

Nice velvet painting, Ken. I also remember the Hillary and the russian spy ones. Who's going to be the next one?
  10:14am Mark:

Lou Reed is famous?
  10:15am Booker:

MEOW!
  10:15am Ken:

I have a ton of new ones fofo! They're in my car right now. I got a Putin, a Charles Nelson Reilly and a batch of others.
  10:15am dc pat:

you gotta get Lou Reed on velvet.
  10:16am Vivian:

I remember a friend of mine hosted a Tupperware party. We all went to support her and bought an inexpensive container each. Then, this friend hosted other parties such as toy parties. It got to be that the only time we heard from her was when she hosted a party. I simply quit responding to her evites. Thankfully, I only receive holiday postcards from her, made up of a photo collage featuring her family. You know, here we are in Spain, here is my daughter with a snake, here is my son building a rocket ship..argh!
  10:16am Cecile:

charles nelson reilly!
Gameshow network is running restored videotapes of old Match Games. Reilly in his glory.
  10:17am Andrea on the M62:

vivian oh gawd! i hav the same friends too!
  10:18am glenn:

i watch the old what's my line shows from the 50s. they're still great.
  10:19am pgw in mntclr:

charles nelson reilly was the man
  10:20am Cecile:

me too, Andrea! One friends had toy parties, book parties, food mix parties. I just would see her address on a postcard and immediately toss it.
  10:20am Booker:

a man's man
  10:20am fofo (:

Ken: to add to the eccentricity of driving naked, you also carry your velvet paintings with you?!
  10:21am PMD:

Ken, so excited to be able to listen live. Say something interesting please.
  10:21am Booker:

my penis somehow magically protects me from these house party hardsell invites
  10:22am Ken:

I had to move all my velvet paintings into the car to make room for a cookie party, actually.
  10:22am Dave B:

the velvet paintings act as HOV passengers
  10:22am Andrea on the M62:

ive never been to the tupperware or toy parties...can i just ask...do they entail just bring along tupperware and toys and swap them or sell them to each other to raise money for charity??
  10:22am dc pat:

yeah I get invited to getting loaded parties but that's about it.
  10:22am Hitachi Magic Wand:

Funny, I get invited all the time.
  10:23am Ken:

Does anybody want to come to my cookie party?
  10:23am Booker:

it's housewives trying to up the household income on their neighbors' backs, Andrea
  10:23am Ken:

Pierre, can you make it to my cookie party?
  10:23am Dan B From Upstate:

I'll go to a scotcharoo party.
  10:23am Ken:

Pierre?
  10:24am Ken:

Well it goes without saying that there will be scotcheroos there, Dan B.
  10:24am Mark:

oh boy a cookie party
  10:24am dc pat:

as long as the cookies are filled with bourbon..
  10:24am Booker:

pierre's out on the sidewalk havin' a smoke
  10:25am Dave B:

nothing exceeds like excess!
  10:26am still b/p:

Decorated Krampus cookies?
  10:26am glenn:

bourbonaroos doesn't flow off the tongue as easily.
  10:26am Dan B From Upstate:

Andrea, are you really driving on the M62? Please say hi to Jeremy Clarkson if you see him.
  10:26am Bad Ronald:

Will Lou Reed be at the cookie party?
  10:27am Andrea on the M62:

oh so not for charity?! haha when you say up the households income on the backs of the others that makes it sound funny but i guess they are awful
  10:27am trrs:

Cookies. I'm seeking a new good cookie in some kind of 12-days-of-cookies - or thereabouts - pb+j healthy ones were meh.
  10:27am Cookie Monster:

Just curious: Where is this party you are talking about?
  10:27am Booker:

yeah, lou misheard and thought it was "cocaine party"
  10:27am Mark:

maybe Lou will bring Metallica to the cookie party.
  10:28am Andrea on the M62:

we miss so much that you all have
  10:28am Cecile:

No. They show them to you, and expect you to place an order for them. it's quite one-sided.
  10:29am Lassie:

timmy, quick, get help! zz top are down the old well!!!!
  10:29am Dan B From Upstate:

Young foolish me always mixed up this song with "Swamp" by Talking Heads.

Young foolish me was a young fool.
  10:29am Vivian:

You're right Booker! Also, she was quite a shopaholic. Once she told me about one of her son's friends who did part of their food shopping at Big Lots. Afterwards, she made a face and said 'I mean, food? At Big Lots? I told her that folks may not be earning enough to eat out 3 nights a week like her family.
  10:29am Cecile:

it would be fun if you were swapping and selling things with your friends. This, not so much
  10:29am bill:

boo on this zz top mangling.
  10:30am Vivian:

@Cecile. We had a wine and clothing swap-so much fun. And so much wine!
  10:30am Andrea on the M62:

cecile haha the cheek. its not as bad as pyramid selling (literally would be fun)
  10:31am trrs:

I'm thinking of a 'smoked cookie' -- dusting some standard up with some confectioner's sugar and a dash of chipotle.
Smoked ginger-molasses, maybe?
  10:31am PMD:

@Vivian - clothes swaps are the BEST. People of all sizes can get together and always find something. I miss those...
  10:33am Mark:

how about some hash in the cookies
  10:33am Cookie Monster:

This sounds like Z, ZZ, Z Z, ZZ Z, Z ZZ Top
  10:33am Cecile:

trrs that sounds great.
There is a Martha Stewart recipe for chocolate gingerbread with molasses that I think would be a prime candidate. It's a bitch to make, BUT it is the single most popular thing I have ever made.
  10:33am pgw in mntclr:

zzz zz zzzz zzzz top
  10:33am kme in chi:

@Dave B. : Keep it clean, huh.
  10:35am ZZ Claus:

A-ho-ho-ho-ho.
  10:35am pgw in mntclr:

good to know that my mind and cookie monster's work in a similar fashion
  10:35am trrs:

Hey, thanks Cecile. I'll (maybe) give it go. Maybe if it isn't too much of a bitch. Improv + baking is often a poor match game.
  10:36am Cecile:
