Listener comments!

  3:10pm
J.T.:

Great opener! Eddie Floyd is fantastic.
  3:10pm
Hunter:

Loved the Floyd, but something about Rod Stewart gets on my very last nerve. I know, it's a Sin to complain, but just had to say it.
  3:10pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Mike and all the listeners.
  3:18pm
The MoD GoD RoD:

To Hunter----There's the way to start off the New Year, complaining on a comments list! I for one think this is brill! Cheers Mike!
  3:18pm
J.T.:

Never heard of Public Nuisance, great tune!
  3:20pm
AWS from MP:

greetings Mike from Bergen County - If TT must be away, then it can only be Sin Radio
  3:21pm
J.T.:

Not a huge fan of Rod myself, but with Faces he had a great band behind.
  3:23pm
DJ Terre T:

Listening at home all sick waaah! I lurve this set& THE EYES especially!! Thx 4 filling in for me Mike!
  3:26pm
J.T.:

Monomen, yay! Estrus was an indispensable label in the early 90s...
  3:29pm
PB:

@Mod God. I can't speak for Mike but would hazard to guess that he doesn't mind people posting their comments (both negative and postive) regarding particular tracks that he plays. After all, isn't that exactly the whole point of allowing listeners to post on a comments board. I, for one, am with those who revile Rod Stewart. Epitomizes the worst of rock n roll excess (although his work with the Small Faces was infinitely better than his solo work).
  3:33pm
kat330:

@MGR & PB: Rachel has left the room now, but I applaud her giving an honest opinion. In the meanwhile, great set, Sin!
  3:38pm
The MoD GoD RoD:

To PB-----You've no idea of what you speak about in either case. Rod was in the FACES not the Small Faces. And second, if you ask 'em i bet WFMU would tell you the comments board was not set up so you can say you don't like programming.
  3:39pm
PB:

Typo
  3:43pm
monica:

i'm sorry, mike, but "plausibly" just doesn't cut it. :)
  3:45pm
Ben Drinken:

It depends on the DJ and his her tolerance PB and Mod. Some are sensitive and some thick skinned. I have seen some DJs shut the playlist down because of some comment about the show. whaaat!!meee!!!
  3:45pm
The MoD GoD RoD:

Yeh sure mate----whenever I make a "typo", I add whole extra words rather just misspell one! ----Just takin the piss out of ya!
  3:49pm
kat330:

Aw, c'mon, youse guys are just funnin' right? No way could an FMU DJ care that a listener doesn't like a particular artist played. I think it would be scarier if listeners were all clones that liked everything played. (shiver)
  3:49pm
Timmy:

hahah!!
  3:50pm
Tom:

The Small Faces' "Itchycoo Park" was on the the charts for 19 weeks, according to Cashbox. Hit #13 and 15 at its height.
  3:51pm
AP Paulie B:

Everybody play nice.
  3:52pm
Paul:

At its height. I get it.
  3:52pm
Paul:

At its height. I get it.
  3:54pm
Paul:

No idea why that appears twice
  3:54pm
Timmy:

don't let em push you around. don't let em ever change your point of view
  3:55pm
frenchee:

Wow! Just came in from walkin' the dog and get a fan-freakin'tastic organ solo on that Kurt B. song. Hi MNike, Hi Paulie B.,
  3:56pm
mrmucho:

for my money "b&w" is the best power pop song EVAH
  3:56pm
J.T.:

WMU boards are some of the most polite on the interwebs. And if you can't argue about music, what's the point. I can't stand Oasis myself. Bleurghh.
  3:58pm
J.T.:

@mrmucho No, it's "Ever Fallen in Love" by Buzzcocks.
  3:58pm
Paul:

Lol Timmy.
  4:00pm
frenchee:

Poor lil boo, Terrre, get well soon! Can you manage a recivert by tonite?
  4:02pm
alvy singer:

dB's & Blue Ash - nice
  4:03pm
Ben Drinken:

This one time I made a comment not to Terre T but another listener on the board that after all these years of listening to her I cannot hear the intro song one more time in its entirety. And that I usually trun it off until about 10 minutes after the show begins so I don't have to hear it. Then she shut the playlist and comments down. I wasn't criticizing her I was just commenting. That darn Cherry Blossom song gets stuck in the head especially after being a long time listener. and it is sooo long.
  4:04pm
Marmalade Kitty:

reat show Mike ! :)
  4:04pm
Timmy:

yes! shout out to the comment boards!
  4:06pm
frenchee:

whoops, meant to type "RECOVERY"
  4:06pm
joli:

just read that bowie turned 65
  4:07pm
alvy singer:

I remember The Producers ... "What She Does To Me" ... oh yeah
  4:07pm
Listener Jumpy from Brooklyn:

Soundin' good! I just learned I can sing "Black & White" all the way through...much to the chargrin of my neighbors.
  4:07pm
kat330:

@Ben D: Guess listeners learn those with thin and those with thicker skins. I'd make a point never to comment on the playlist of an overly sensitive DJ.
  4:09pm
DJ Terre T:

Oh blaaaargh - I can't believe I'm weighing on this Comments list deb8 from my sickbed...coz I'm tryin 2 rest & wanna listen to Mike's great fill in. But as someone from WFMU, I'm in agreement w/Mod! The board is more for info notes & positive support. I cant name one DJ that wants to hear negativity about their show.
@kat330- its not whether u like it or not. Its just posting "this is bad" on Commrnts list (& anonymously at that!) Coz if u don't like it, u really don't HAVE TO LISTEN- no one's forcing u. C'mon u know this! Also as far as thin- skinned: theeeeee most thin-skinned people are the Anonymous commenters who get upset when u call them on *their* comments! Just my honest WFMU opinion. Ok thx I luv u guys- I gotta get better. Thx Mike for a gr8 fill in!
  4:10pm
Listener Jumpy from Brooklyn:

DM3!
  4:10pm
Paul:

Bowie and Elvis' birthday tomorrow
  4:10pm
joli:

no the comments are for US to have FUN with
  4:11pm
Ben Drinken:

Get well Terre T. Miss you today.
  4:12pm
Listener Jumpy from Brooklyn:

Did you just turn the DM3 into hip hop??
  4:14pm
Nate the K:

Have fun but keep that PMA! PMA! (Thanks PB.)
  4:16pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Get well soon TerreT!!!
  4:16pm
PB:

@Nate, what does PMA refer to?
  4:16pm
kat330:

Distinction: If a listener comments about not liking a particular artist or piece of music, it is not indicting the DJ whatsoever. If the DJ takes down the comments or attacks a listener for his/her opinion, then it IS personal. There's a power difference as well. 'nuff said IAE.
  4:18pm
JohnEBGood:

Happy New Year! The Small Faces and Faces are
both great bands. The late great Steve Marriot of Small Faces was replaced by the the still great Rod Stewart and Ron Wood. Both Bands contained late great Ronnie Lane and living musicians Ian Maclag anand Kenny Jones.
  4:20pm
Nate the K:

Positive mental architecture (and I meant AP Pauly B, sorry PB)
  4:22pm
Listener Jumpy from Brooklyn:

Terre T! Get well soon!
  4:32pm
Timmy:

Mike can you tell me what song you talk over after each set?
  4:33pm
paul:

My aunt called me Paulie B. many, many years ago.
  4:39pm
Ben Drinken:

The Terre T apron is great. Been getting some use baking and cooking. I also got my John Allen mug premium finally after the back order. Just got it Thursday.
  4:44pm
DJ Terre T:

@kat330 But a DJ is doing all the programming & it's their choices/taste yr being negative about. It's frustrating, coz it's a fact that u can't pls everyone with yr show, if u don't like it, u do not have to listen. I just don't get the impulse to post negative on the one thing u don't like, rather than the 99% u do like. Agreed that if a dJ personally attacks a commenter that's not cool- but anyone attacking anyone on the board isn't right. Strongly disagree that deleting negative anonymous comments is a personal attack on the commenter. Again the DJ is right there in public & these comments are pretty much anonymous. That's all, c'mon guys!
  4:45pm
joli:

music is supposed to be FUN
  4:50pm
PJ:

What tickets ya got?
  4:50pm
DJ Terre T:

@ Frenchee, @Ben Drinken, @Marmalade Kitty & @Jumpy: thank u for the well wishes! Feel like crap. My eyes hurt. I really appreci8 it so much. And thx Mike, Paulie, Nate& Stu( u gots a whole crew there!) U guys had a Happy New Year I hope! Love Terre
  4:51pm
Stevel:

Music IS fun. When I don't like a song, I generally remember that, on WFMU, I'm likely to hear something I LOVE very soon.

Get better soon
  4:54pm
Marmalade Kitty:

TerreT, drink lots of fruit juice, eat plenty of garlic and ginger! and chillis if you can eat 'em! Bugs really hate all those things and will not hang about ;)
  4:57pm
PB:

I always find Gatorade works well when I feel like crap. Must be the electrolytes.
  5:00pm
frenchee:

WFMU is the *only* radio station that I actually turn UP when the DJ starts talking. Love (most of) the music, but best is all the DJ SINformation in Mike's case and personalities on parade from such a motley crew. The message boards are a great addition too, cause we can all sound off and show our smartie-smarts ....
  5:00pm
Ben Drinken:

oh. Terre T. I really hope you know that your listeners love you. And this makes me feel bad about being tired of the intro. I feel like I need to break out a The Move album. I think from now on I will be able to listen to The Move's Cherry Blossom Clinic again because it will always make me think of you. Please get well. We need you. Hard working DJ.
  5:11pm
DJ Terre T:

@Steve L thanx so much!!! @Ben thanx & onward & upward! It's all good! @Marmalade that is gr8 advice: I KNOW I'm supposed to eat hot spicy foods when sick coz it's anti- microbial &very healthy. Unfortun8ly I must the only Korean that h8s Kim Chee & spicy food in general.
@Mike this show has been so fantastic - lurveDon Fardon! thanx so much for this gr8 fill in!
  5:18pm

  5:23pm
On the Yazoo:

Dang.. I missed the first two hours.. Thank Goodness Y'all archive the shows. Get Well Soon Terre T.
  5:25pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Cherry Blossom Clinic always sounds similar to Happy Days Toy Town Small Faces, to my ear.. the stomping driving heavy bass guitar.. also, All of My Friends Were There Kinks
  5:27pm
DJ Terre T:

@jt thx 4 well wishes& Mike's fill in is SO GOOD, right?!!!

  5:30pm
Ben Drinken:

  5:32pm

  5:58pm
Ben Drinken:

hey, frenchee, we are dismantling our Christmas tree too. It isn't really a tree but we make it out of cardboard scraps and a stick. but we load it with ornaments and lights
  11:20pm
Camilla and Mark:

We loved this show! We were driving through Harlem on our way to Fairway for groceries, and we turned on FMU. You are wonderful! We loved your show and couldn't tear ourselves away from the radio. Thank God I found the link to the archived show so we can hear what we missed while we were in the supermarket. All the best to you, Mike, and thanks for making us aging rock'n'roll fans very happy.
