The title for today seems to be "Them Heavy People".

fred von helsing:

Did anyone bring meth? I love meth.
  3:07am
Caryn:

BTW, I sent an e-mail trying to stake my claim to the playlist and board yesterday, but the adoption doesn't seem to even be pending. :(
  3:07am
fred:

Good morning everybody!
Julie and Clay will bring the station over the halfway mark, way over it
  3:08am
Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Two airings in one day of Haysi Fantayzee might even do it.
  3:08am
fred:

@Caryn: you're not alone there, seems there's some delay with adoptions, with the background checks and all
  3:10am
Caryn:

@fred: well, naturally you want each babe to get a good mommy or daddy...
  3:11am

Hello, Pie and Bronxelf.

Im on train, pledging will have to wait until later. It should be a pleasant journey though. Always is with Dark Night of the Soul.

Yay Clay :) Yay Julie :)
Had to stay up to pledge - now I have to pass out and hear the hijinx on the archives. (Note to self - #31)

I think Clay might need to move the goalposts on Julie's goal as she looks set to demolish it :D
  3:17am
Danne D:

Of course Clay (That was implicit) :)
  3:18am
KP:

Clay's show I'd called Occupy 91.1.
  3:19am
KP:

Almost.
  3:19am
Danne D:

@fred - you're right - I think Julie is going to put the FMU up to the half-way point :D

Anyhow, go Julie! Go Clay! Go Pledge everyone! Look forward to listening to the rest tomorrow :) Now's the time for our European friends to shine!

Good night all.

Hi Julie & Dark Nighters.

Julie, you were an exemplary foil on Irene's show.

Good night Danne D!

Wow that's a band name. Julie's Pledge Widget !
  3:23am

Fjörds are in Norway!

Julie! Clay! A partial Triumvirate reunion! Let's pledge away!
  3:23am
Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Julie's tongue-tied around Clay. She's filled with love.
  3:23am
Matt from Springfield:

I told you Clay: speak of the Matt...!
(I had already typed, was waiting for comment to load ;)
  3:25am
Matt from Springfield:

@FVH: Julie's Pledge Widget might work as a band name on this show. Pidge Pledge works even better--reminds you of an 80s pop band name!
  3:26am
KP:

Danne D, excellent point. Mini celebration when Julie puts the total total over 50%. A real one when she doubles her goal.
  3:27am
Matt from Springfield:

@KP: I opened another tab with the main pledge-o-meter. Will scream in celebration as we clear the halfway point.

The Freds are in! But where are the Davids tonight??

  3:38am

Oscar, figure about 4:45.
  3:39am
Matt from Springfield:

@Oscar: We're focused on pledging tonight. But, there are several history enthusiasts in Virginia who go to Civil War battlefields, dress up like Julie and Clay, and re-enact their Hurricane Irene fights! ;)

  4:15am
fred von helsing:

Nope I'm a pay-as-you-go kinda guy, I wanna get the cash into WFMU's hot little hands and stake my naming claim. I'll sort it out and try again on UTP and make sure our fearless DJ Julie gets a chunk..
  4:16am
pierre:

Bonjour people of the WFMU.
Bonjour Julie!
Bonjour Clay!

Aaaah Clay, and Julie, a classic duo, great to meet again.
  4:17am
Matt from Springfield:

@Clay: That's a great idea! 11 Soft Rock classics this year sounds great! How did you not think of that before?! But, a Clay Darkwave CD sounds even more fabulous! (You can finally release the "full" version of "I'll Be The One Who's Wearing Black" :)
  4:18am
Caryn:

And yep, Andrew Gold did the song originally, but the "Golden Girls" version was by Cynthia Fee.
  4:20am
Matt from Springfield:

Biumvirate! That's a good dis-ambiguation! Diumvirate, because you and Fabio are DYING without Julie! Whereas you and Julie are GETTING BY just fine! (The Triumvirate will TRY anything!)

Is Cecile on the board? She knows about Pablo Cruise!

Matt from Springfield:

If only you could rewind and tape-edit life. And edit in song clips, beats and Shazz over life...

  4:26am
Matt from Springfield:

@Caryn: Too funny to be dark--now Clay's bonus disc on the other hand is a great venue for releasing that!
  4:28am
Matt from Springfield:

Mouse of Today Pledge = $365 = 7 premiums, plus the other accessories.
  4:28am
Matt from Springfield:

Dark Knight Dan is Australian Dan! Cool, and that's considerate of you too!
  4:29am
Caryn:

@Matt: no, see let's have a biumvirate of premiums: Clay's premium will be soft rock duets, like the Carly Simon. And Julie's premium will be the dark duets. Then you gotta get both to get the full experience.
  4:30am
Matt from Springfield:

@Caryn: Interactive teamwork premiums, I like the concept.
LOL @Dave B!
  4:35am
T-Zero:

Never heard Black Tape before. Lyric-wise, that song reminded me of the Adult Fantasies, 8 Neo-Pathetic Scenes album. I like it!
  4:35am

Clay, listening to that Black Tape for a Blue Girl has me thinking Julie might like Queensryche's Rage for Order album leaps and bounds beyond what she would likely assume.

@KP, yes, unfortunately.
  5:07am
Matt from Springfield:

@Adam: If you're going to NY/NJ and have some time, you can email Scott Williams (the volunteer director)--there's a need for volunteers year round, and it's a cosmic thrill to contribute at WFMU, like a cooperative store! :)
  5:08am
Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

It just means more pledges are needed as a remedy. ;-)
  5:08am
Matt from Springfield:

Yes, the 128k stream keeps dropping out repeatedly. The Flash player had a few issues but it's much better.
  5:08am

@pierre: she says you rarely show up. Though you did so at the La Ligne Claire gig, she noticed that.

@TZ: Oh! Do you mean Donovan's "Little Boy In Corduroy"? That comes on the same album, near the "There Was A Time" track. I think that's what you mean..
  5:16am
JJ:

I guess the mentioned underwater transantlantic cable isn't helping. Glitches & dropouts in Portugal/Europe too, at a low bit rate.
  5:16am
Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Is Clay spinning right round like a record?
  5:18am
T-Zero:

Dark Knight Dan:

  5:19am
Matt from Springfield:

Click the "Flash (beta)" link to the left--that seems to be working much better than the 128k.
  5:19am
Marmalade Kitty:

Thats funny, I am wearing cord shorts :)
  5:19am
Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

I think Clay's dying to play some Girlschool.
  5:20am
fred von helsing:

The Flash stream is way reliable
  5:21am
Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Marty controls the world's water supply.

  5:22am
Matt from Springfield:

  5:22am
KP:

Safari is saying we have hit the goal.
  5:23am
Matt from Springfield:

@MK: When the station meets its goal, even the cow's tail will be wagging!
  5:24am
Caryn:

Yay, the tail is wagging! How's the station goal? Have we gone over the half-way mark yet?
  5:24am
T-Zero:

Or as Dan Bodah said, it'll drop a pie
  5:24am
KP:

  5:26am
Matt from Springfield:

@Caryn: I'm sure we have, but they need to update tonight's pledges into the main widget.

Is there anyone awake who HASN'T pledged yet? Come on, this is for Julie's show! Even if her goal is met, you can reach your hand into the walls of the station--we still need your help!
  5:26am
pierre:

I've been told that the dog moves his tail, but i never saw it live ! I'm glad.
  5:27am
Matt from Springfield:

Maybe when the whole station reaches its goal, the animation should reverse, and "the tail will wag the dog"!
  5:28am
Marmalade Kitty:

  5:29am
T-Zero:

MK, yeah. I'm only hearing bits of about every other song...

  5:30am
Matt from Springfield:

Which streams are y'all using? Who's still having issues?
  5:30am
fred von helsing:

  5:32am
KP:

There is a bad flash problem with Firefox. use safari or explorer.
  5:33am
T-Zero:

The 128 stream, Matt
  5:34am
Matt from Springfield:

I ditched that stream a while ago. Use the Flash, that seems to be an emerging consensus. Firefox is doing fine for me, but if you don't want to take a chance, use Flash in Safari or IE browsers.
  5:35am
pierre:

it keep jumping on and off for me, i'm just bitting my cheek and wait for the stream to stay STILL !
  5:36am

  5:41am
KP:

Safari says 50% is like 12G away.
  5:42am
Matt from Springfield:

This is a good Genesis album, last of Peter Gabriel.
Julie said how "Wind & Wuthering" is her favorite. That was Phil Collins, but really early, almost indistinguished vocal style from Peter.

So Vance, which Genesis album is your favorite? :)
