Evening, mariano.

JakeGould:

Hello Dave! 80 degrees in NYC. What is this!!??!!
Avatar 10:11pm
Dave Mandl:

Hey Jake. Is it really? The irony is that It's freeeeeezing here in the studio.
  10:13pm
Carmichael:

Hey there, Dave. I'm grilling out here in Cal this evening.
  10:13pm
JakeGould:

I work in server rooms that can ice cubes, so know the feeling. Say hi to the penguins in the studio for me then.
Avatar 10:15pm
Dave Mandl:

Hey, Carmichael. I wish I there were, for lots of reasons.

That BiPolar Guy:

I'm a little surprised it's so warm here in Brooklyn
  10:19pm
That BiPolar Guy:

The weather channel app says the temp is 69 degrees out

Sometimes I get confused and roll-over.
No, not really.
Avatar 10:27pm
Dave Mandl:

69 is plenty warm. And way warmer than here in the studio.
Avatar 10:33pm
Droll:

When I got home from the store I discovered one of the six beer bottles is another style. The problem now, of course, is I don't know if I should have that one first, or last.

Seattle is mostly sunny and 62F.
  10:36pm
P-90:

@ DJ Dave: I think Jake was referring to the peak temp in the city today, it's backed off a little since then.
So they just fired up the AC at WFMU HQ and it needs a little TLC to get it set OK for the Summer?
Avatar 10:38pm
Dave Mandl:

Yeah, I think it's an over-protective A/C, definitely.
  10:42pm
Carmichael:

Great problem to have, Droll. Accidental beer introduction. What brands?
  10:44pm
P-90:

@ Droll: I'd be fucked. No matter which way I went on that I'd be second-guessing. Until the alcohol kicked in.
Yes, what brands?
Avatar 10:45pm
fleep:

Law of diminishing beer returns says after the third one, they all taste alike, so drink the outlier first. In my amateur opinion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm
pacific standard simon:

Howdy fellers. Just tuned in, had to check to make sure my speakers were working.
  10:47pm
P-90:

"Fleep's Law": Drink the outlier first.
Sounds right to me. Clear head, unsullied palate.
Avatar 10:47pm
Dave Mandl:

Haha. Yeah, this track is very quiet. I have to keep bumping the volume higher and higher.
Avatar 10:48pm
Dave Mandl:

(Response to @pss there, if it wasn't obvious.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm
pacific standard simon:

Unless it's pumpkin stout; that stuff is gross. If it's pumpkin, save it for last so you won't be able to taste it much.
Avatar 10:51pm
Droll:

The 6-pack was Deschutes Obsidian Stout, I got a Deschutes Red Chair in there, but it's too late: I went stout for consistency.
After 3 beers when someone sneaks in a different beer I typically respond with the 'ate a lemon' face out of surprise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
pacific standard simon:

Dave, I had good reason to be concerned. I hooked my computer up to my TV with an HDMI cable so I can watch baseball on the big screen, but to get sound on the TV I have to switch default audio output to the HDMI, which switches off computer sound. One of these days I'll forget to switch back.
  10:55pm
Carmichael:

Red Chair is a Red ale, right? It would throw some hops at your creamy stout taste buds. About 1.5% higher in ABV, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm
pacific standard simon:

Don't get whiplash, Droll.
  10:57pm
P-90:

sounds like you've got the fixins for a "Beer Garden Black & Tan"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm
pacific standard simon:

The rhythm backing on this swings; sounds like Flora borrowed Miles' bass player.
Avatar 10:59pm
Dave Mandl:

@pss: Stanley Clarke!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm
mariano:

@PSS: I was about to say something about Mahavishnu, the end sounded a lot like something from the first album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm

Hmmm...

Mr. Clarke has, uhhh, respectable technique.

Wow I haven't listened to Pure Prairie League since jr. high school. I loved these songs. So sweet...great melodies & harmonies. Perfect warmth for a cold WFMU studio.

Nice Mother's Day tribute.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm
mariano:

@Droll: That's really awesome! One thing: do you mean for the scroll wheel to resize the graphic itself instead of the whole page scrolling up and down?
Avatar 11:36pm
Droll:

mariano, Definitely need resizing because even bigger timelines are coming. Agreed, this is a bit awkward, you need to use the scrollbar or page down key... Not sure what the "right" thing to do is. Feedback most appreciated!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm
pacific standard simon:

I think you meant to post this:

54.187.229.86...
Avatar 11:42pm
Droll:

pss, The whole thing is an experiment. I was making these lists ad-hoc which was a pain in the ass. Now I can scan and sort all of Discogs in less then 6 seconds, so many lists are in the future.
  Swag For Life Member 11:43pm
12539:

@Droll, it's impressive, but too much to take in too quickly. I'm not sure I understand the ability to raise and lower the vertical bars. Is that to control the overlaps?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm
mariano:

@Droll: Ah, I see. That's quite a herculean task, the whole thing!
  Swag For Life Member 11:47pm
12539:

Blanche Neige is Snow White, the character.
Avatar 11:47pm
Droll:

12539, Yeah, you need move them around to improve the shoddy layout. Clicking on them updates the bottom, and you can jump to that album as the center -- that's not obvious either. It's a work in progress, I think proof of concept is the phrase.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm
pacific standard simon:

Sometimes I just wish there were a World of Echo 24-hour web stream.
Avatar 11:56pm
Dave Mandl:

@pss: Thanks. Maybe someday.
Avatar 11:57pm
Droll:

Thanks, DM. Lots of great winds this week. I still feel like I've been cheated out of an hour of echo. See yinz next Sunday!
  Swag For Life Member 11:57pm
12539:

@Droll, I like that you can click on the bar to see the album details. Graphically it would help if the bars resembled an album in shape or image somehow. Thinner, variously colored artist bands might help. That's all I can say in this short time.
  Swag For Life Member 11:58pm
12539:

Thanks, Dave, and leave slowly, the outside temperature might shock you.
