Alright, buddy, pull those potentiometers over, this heahs the Jazz Radio police. Freeform radio jock not announcing at least 10 minutes worth of information on every jazz track they play? Under the Phil Schaap international rules of talking till the listener's mind explodes, you could be penalized having to play 3 annoyingly commercial jazz-rock fusion tunes. Kenny G anyone?

Tuba music? What's wrong with tuba music?

Good evening Dave, and all little echos.

Supertramp:-) do you know how many times the classic rock station plays "the logical song" and "take the long way home"
  10:32pm

How about "give a little bit" I like that one

It never fails, BTW. If I have to work on Sunday, I miss the first half of this show because of work. If I DON'T have to work, I miss the first half because it's a good day to cook supper for the family.

There was this one tuba player who used to march in the St. Stupid's Day (April 1st) parade in San Francisco -- he had the inside of the bell of his instrument painted with a perfect reproduction of the cartoon of Dr. Zarkoff from Wally Wood's Mad Magazine parody of Flash Gordon -- the one where Zarkoff is pointing and shouting, "GOOD LORD!" It was a thing of beauty.

I need to revisit old 10CC. It's what I've been doing lately with Squeeze.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm

@fleep - yep, that's the one! I wonder where that tuba is now, or if it was repainted?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm
pacific standard simon:

Today is the 71st birthday of Roger Ruskin Spear! It seems that his leg-shaped theremin (used in the Bonzos song "Noises For The Leg") still exists.

To properly savor a Listener Comment, swirl it around in your brain a few times to release the aroma, then sip, do not gulp, the Comment, swishing it back and forth in your consciousness to release all the flavors. Then spit it out, this stuff is nasty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm

We strive to avoid taking things such as that personally... ever and on.

Here I sit
Broken hearted
Paid my $7.70
And missed the ferry.
Avatar 11:21pm
Droll:

Wow -- $7.70 to walk-on? I used to take my motorcycle on for $8.40. That was always a blast because they drop the rope, let the bicycles get a decent head start, and then Death Race 2000 begins when they wave all the motorcycles to go.

I miss the island, but not adding 55 minutes to a 90 minute commute when I missed the ferry. Or missed a plane... Ohhhh, it's a way of life there.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26pm
Tome:

..should maybe give that one to the KenZo .. oopsy ..
Avatar 11:28pm

Tome, a downloaded 3 hour show is usually 176-177 mB, I raid the archive a lot.

oh ty for confirming I am just so into listening now ,, need 98% of the brain working while the other 2% is who knows where ..

I always catch fleep roaming the archives looking for shows where Gentle Giant was played. No -- wait -- fleep always catches me roaming the archives doing that. But to be fair, fleep looks just as lost as I do, he just swims faster.

Fleep, Droll... just say Yes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm

To be fair, I work and live here, so I take the ferry maybe once every quarter. Like this Wednesday, when my wife and I are seeing Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds at The Paramount.
