Evening all and Happy 2015. Welcome back Therese.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08am Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Therese. How was your time off? Happy 2015!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08am Fuzzy:

Nice start!
  12:09am P-90:

...been hard at work thinking up possible worthy "titles" for Therese's show. Still not convinced that "Therese" isn't the best...
Avatar 12:10am bobdoesthings:

@P-90.. Oooo! ooo! oo... what about "The Therese Show" ??
  12:11am Steve-O:

Hi Therese! So wonderful to have you back on WFMU! =D
  12:12am -andrew-:

Fun/useless trivia about this song. It was the opening theme to the TV show "The Dead Zone" for a few seasons.
  12:12am Steve-O:

@P-90: How about, "It's Therese, Actually!"

I sympathize with growing up with an unfamiliar name. No personalized stuff for us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am Fuzzy:

I knew a lovely lady in Juneau with the same name -- she pronounced it Ta-REES though.
  12:28am -moralkiosk:

good one, bgz
  12:29am Steve-O:

Therese & Teresa are two of my favorite female names in the whole world. =)
Avatar 12:30am bobdoesthings:

What about the name Gladys?
Avatar 12:31am bobdoesthings:

Or Tabitha? Marion? Elvira?.. jesus
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am Therese:

I do like the name Gladys.
  12:33am rw:

I like Therese, just. Though I'm certain you can come up with something you'd be happy with if you feel the need. BTW I like Gladys too...
Avatar 12:33am bobdoesthings:

me too. I feel like I can trust a Gladys.
  12:34am rw:

"This is Therese, and you're listening to Gladys."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am Therese:

Gladys is on the short list.
  12:37am P-90:

Gladys def works.
  12:38am V Priceless:

The Epic Gladys Show with Therese! Happy New Year Therese! Thanx for the Thin White Duke!
Avatar 12:40am bobdoesthings:

oh I didn't realize we were discussing a new name for Therese's show.. I just thought we were discussing female names we appreciated.. I think Therese's show should continue to be called 'Therese'.. I mean it really nails it in my opinion.. pretty much dead on with that name..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41am Ken From Hyde Park:

First stab at a recursive acronym-style name - "Therese Has Everyone Running Everywhere Surprisingly Easily"
  12:42am P-90:

No one (or thing) named Gladys is ever going to let you down, right? You just know someone's got your back with a Gladys.
  12:58am rw:

So glad R. Wyatt released this comp. It's nice to hear all these songs again.
Avatar 1:03am BadGuyZero:

I gave my two-year-old niece a copy of "Here Come The ABCs" for Christmas. I haven't heard any feedback on whether or not she likes it.

Therese isn't stupid.
  1:15am rw:

Not stupid, stupid sexy.
  1:22am Steve-O:

@rw: Yeah, I don't think it'll work too well either.....no offense, man.
Avatar 1:24am BadGuyZero:

I ate pierogi and watched "What's Up, Doc?" on New Year's Day. I intend to make that a NYD tradition. Everybody else can have black-eyed peas; I'll enjoy pierogi.
  1:26am -andrew-:

I've never had pierogi. It's on a long list of foods I've yet to try but want to at some point.
  1:26am Listener Carl:

Ola Therese, welcome back!! As far as Best Of shows, that year you had people call in with resolutions and more, was, hey, let's face it, brilliant- in re a show title, what about "Mahler's 5th" (which you can then update going forward) ?
  1:34am rw:

Steve-O. Yeah, I agree. It was just hanging out there waiting for somebody to type it.
  1:36am slowbear:

WD 40 on the key is genius
Avatar 1:37am Danne D:

I got a gentleman's C is woodshop.

(I'm not kidding)
  1:38am rw:

I'm putting my money on cross-cut.
  1:38am slowbear:

They made us do home economics and "technology" instead of woodshop
Avatar 1:38am BadGuyZero:

We took one semester of woodshop and one semester of drafting. I learned how to print super-tiny in that drafting class.
  1:38am JakeGould:

I liked woodshop. Making cranes out of hunks of wood. Brooklyn public schools!
Avatar 1:41am Danne D:

Basically I was terrible. We had to make a stool. By the end of the marking period I had 5 pieces of uneven wood. With about a week to go, my 5 pieces of wood mysteriously disappeared. I think the teacher took pity on me (he "graded me on my what I did") - my brothers had had him years before - they were actually good at woodshop.
Avatar 1:43am Danne D:

I'm signing off here but thanks as always for your wonderfulness Therese :)
And have a good night everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am Ken From Hyde Park:

I did better in metal shop than in wood shop. I made a cart for dad's oxi-acetylene gas welder tanks.
Avatar 1:49am BadGuyZero:

I was a disaster in woodshop. I was at home in drafting class.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53am Therese:

I would have been a disaster in drafting. Super tiny printing takes a much steadier hand than I have.
  1:54am rw:

I fantasized about making a guitar in wood shop. My folks still have a wall mounted coat rack from... 1976 maybe? '77?
Avatar 1:55am BadGuyZero:

I think my mom still has a miniature cookbook shelf/stand that I made in woodshop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01am Fuzzy:

I made my Mom a spice rack in wood shop in junior high -- well I made some pieces, anyway...brought 'em home in a bag. Yeah...wood shop wasn't really my thing.
  2:12am rw:

Yes. This Coltrane would have been too long. FCC would have been pissed.
  2:14am rw:

And we all would have been confused about where we were tuned.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14am Ken From Hyde Park:

Too long by about 2x, but I love it. That was great.
  2:17am rw:

That era Coltrane is especially good. (in my opinion)
  2:20am rw:

Okay, I'm out. Thanks Therese. Have fun coming up with a name for the show! Bye everybody!

My previous two cars had frameless windows, so a wire coat hanger or a skinny strip of metal would get me in. My current car has push-button start and beeps and doesn't lock if I try to lock it with the key fob inside.
  2:48am Steve-O:

I took a shop class once, but I was never good at it.....=(

Teacher was nice, though. =)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53am Ken From Hyde Park:

"Therese's No Sleep Zone" ... how's that for a title? Have a great week!

Anyway Therese, I hope you enjoyed your holiday, and have a great week.....=)
