  12:39am rw:

Ken, I just stole your Trump joke. Hope that's okay. I copped to plagiarism if that makes a difference.
  12:43am sugarwolf:

  12:43am rw:

It got a Haha and a string of monkey emoticons.
  12:52am MONEYBAG$:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am Therese:

I think they are, Moneybag$
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am Therese:

Or, they aren't completely INactive.
Avatar 12:57am ! I X Key !:

Good morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59am Ken From Hyde Park:

@rw - No problem. I'm glad to have that joke spread out in the world.
  1:01am slowbear:

Good to hear your voice teres
  1:02am slowbear:

Therese sorry
  1:02am slowbear:

My dog is in the hospital now... Sick doggy
  1:03am ice in bklyn:

The golden age of bloodshed
  1:05am ice in bklyn:

^companion piece to the pop group?

I would love to hear some Rowland Howard right about now..
  1:06am ice in bklyn:

Congrats to Mr Burger!
  1:11am JakeGould:

Yup, they wrote “After Hours” and then after it was made—or maybe during the production—Joe Frank got word of it and then they settled it out of court for some substantial compensation.
  1:15am ice in bklyn:

Joe Frank continues to blow my mind.
Therese, your show has been blowing my mind for some time. Thanks for being there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17am Therese:

Thank you, Ice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am Therese:

And Slowbear- I hope your dog feels better soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am Therese:

And thank you JakeGould for the After Hours/Joe Frank corroboration!
  1:19am slowbear:

Thanks Therese! Apparently he just barfed in the hospital but we'll see.
  1:19am slowbear:

I'm getting text updates bc I have to work
  1:22am JakeGould:

This sums it up: “The project was called ‘A Night in Soho’ and it was based on the script by Joseph Minion. The screenplay, originally titled ‘Lies’ after the 1982 Joe Frank monologue that inspired the story, was written as part of an assignment for his film course at Columbia University. He was 26 years old at the time the film was produced. The script finally became ‘After Hours’ after Scorsese made his final amendments.” en.wikipedia.org...
  1:23am JakeGould:

So basically a film student rips of a Joe Frank story, it gets attention and he doesn’t tell anyone and then Joe Frank finds out and sued. Also, I believe this is the exact episode that was the basis of the script. www.joefrank.com...
  1:26am Steve-O:

@slowbear: Hope your dog gets better, man. =(
  1:26am rw:

Thanks Jake! I had heard the film was stolen from Joe Frank and that there had been some controversy or law suit. I remember liking the film. I'm curious to hear the original. Might be worth the $9.00.
  1:27am JakeGould:

Actually this is a better summary. Includes the audio of the episode. andrewhearst.com...
  1:27am slowbear:

Thanks Steve-o me too
  1:28am JakeGould:

@rw: Check my last link. BOOM!
  1:30am rw:

JG that link is lagging. I'll try again later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33am pacific standard simon:

Is there a link where I can see all artists played by ALL WFMU djs?
  1:37am MONEYBAG$:

a single artist that has been played by every DJ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39am pacific standard simon:

Wha? No, I'm just obsessed with a band, and want to know if any DJ here has ever played anything by them.
  1:39am JakeGould:

  1:40am MONEYBAG$:

my guess would also be jandek.... but there is a band browser under the advanced search section
  1:41am MONEYBAG$:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am pacific standard simon:

Thank you, MONEYBAG$ -- it turns out that John and Mary has been played exactly once on WFMU, by Julie, on Dark Night of the Soul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49am pacific standard simon:

Since there have been playlists, I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51am pacific standard simon:

It's a shame that Lee Hazlewood never dueted with Harry Nilsson, as far as I know.
  1:52am #4:

get up....
express great love for the DJ service being provided. Holy crap. Greatest ever shclockolove
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52am pacific standard simon:

This song is for Cam Newton.
  1:54am MONEYBAG$:

man, I hope work gets called off due to the snow tomorrow, because I should have gone to sleep awhile ago
  1:55am #4:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55am pacific standard simon:

A bottle of whiskey will fortify you to meet the working day. NO SLEEP.
  1:56am MONEYBAG$:

I had to stay up to see if Therese would play a Rosey Grier song
  1:59am rw:

Got the link to work. Thanks Jake!
I wonder what it would be like to know you lifted portions of a script and then see it turn into a Scorsese film.
  2:02am JakeGould:

@rw: Anger at your work being ripped off and calm in knowing the ripoff is so clear and such plagiarism that you can see $$$ signs in your eyes. At the end of the day everyone benefited.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03am pacific standard simon:

"Former Giant," humph! Former LA Ram, you mean. Fearsome foursome, etc.
  2:04am MONEYBAG$:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04am pacific standard simon:

He was a Giant, but the Rams are the reason he's remembered...
  2:05am JakeGould:

Joe Namath!
  2:05am rw:

Jake, No, I mean what it would be like for the plagiarizer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06am pacific standard simon:

Fearsome Foursome, just sayin'.
  2:07am sugarwolf:

227 also had Olivia from Sesame Street!
  2:07am JakeGould:

@rw: Hard to say when someone is a student and does that. Maybe they learned that that’s how “the game” is played and they got busted? I mean Joseph Minion is not a household name but it doesn’t seem that revelation ended his career. Far from it. The desire for fame and power is a crazy thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10am pacific standard simon:

...and he failed to bat away the forward pass that killed Robt. Kennedy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16am pacific standard simon:

Sad for me, Dan Hicks, of Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, has passed away at 74.
  2:18am rw:

JG I'm happy I don't have to play that game. No real desire for fame here. Respect, perhaps but fame, no.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21am pacific standard simon:

I'm guessing that Jeff Conklin will have something to play about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29am pacific standard simon:

Bengals fan?
Avatar 2:29am Joe B:

hey therese
  2:30am rw:

Okay, gotta go. Thank you Therese! Later kids!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30am Therese:

Hey Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31am Therese:

G'night RW!
  2:45am JakeGould:

@rw: Focusing on respect in creative endeavors is the best long term solution. Most people don't get rich in creative pursuits so consistent respect earns respect and consistent work. At least that's how I see it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49am pacific standard simon:

Gnaw the toe-cheese.
  2:56am Jeff in HI:

Another Sunday dinner with Therese on the speakers. Perfect.
Avatar 2:58am Joe B:

thanks for the plug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58am pacific standard simon:

Been a long time since new Freakwater.
  3:00am Steve-O:

Well, Therese, I enjoyed your show again, as always. Good night, pleasant dreams, and have a wonderful week! =)
